Footwear Designer
Element is currently seeking a qualified Footwear Designer.
Objective:
Element is looking for a driven, talented and dedicated footwear designer with some development experience to join our growing footwear department.
Responsibilities (not limited to):
• Conceptualize footwear designs based on design briefs
• Sketch footwear silhouettes either by hand or computer
• Prepare computer illustrations and technical packages
• Research market trends, styling details, materialization, technology, etc. that can be applied to footwear collection
• Generate footwear colorways and material specifications
• See designs through development and sampling stages—including but not limited to scheduling, patterning, blueprints, fabrication, colorways, etc.
• Correspond directly with overseas footwear development team
Professional Requirements:
• No less than 2 years professional footwear design experience
• Experience in creating and preparing footwear technical packages
• Proficient in use of Mac-based Adobe Illustrator, Excel and Word. Photoshop a plus.
• No less than 2 years of footwear development experience.
• Basic knowledge of footwear manufacturing and construction, especially as it applies to skateboarding and skateboard shoes
• Willing to travel to overseas vendor sites
Personal Requirements:
• Knowledge and interest in skateboarding and other action sports
• General knowledge of sneakers and sneaker culture
• Independent and proactive problem-solving mentality
• Motivated, organized and efficient work habits
• Good communication skills
