The Communications Director for Colorado Ski Country USA (CSCUSA) is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of the annual communications plan, as well as maintaining support for all CSCUSA’s external communications domestically and internationally. The Communications Director is a highprofile position within the organization who interacts directly with the CSCUSA Board of Trustees, CSCUSA Communications Committee, and CSCUSA senior staff. The position reports to the CSCUSA President & CEO.
Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Develop and execute an annual strategic communications plan and budget
• Serve as primary spokesperson for CSCUSA
• Provide strategic input and guidance in development of CSCUSA’s position on important ski industry issues
• Oversee the planning and execution of CSCUSA domestic and international public and media relations efforts
• Manage CSCUSA Communications Committee
• Plan and organize all aspects of the CSCUSA Annual Meeting
• Manage communications department staff of two
Qualifications and Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree required, with a major in Communications or Journalism preferred
• Six years public relations experience, including three years of senior level management
• Strong, demonstrated writing skills
• Extensive domestic and international travel required
• Ski industry and travel/tourism background preferred, but not required
• Intermediate skiing or snowboarding skills required
Salary Range: $60,000-$75,000 annually, DOE
