B$Z: Bern Unlimited Sees Global Growth Spikes and Makes Way for New Category

Rounding out its first decade in business, Bern Unlimited (Bern) announces double-digit growth and a 30 percent expansion in global distribution for 2014. The leader in head protection will parlay its success in the helmet category into the goggle channel, introducing its first line of snow goggles in 2015.

Bringing new innovations to the goggle category in both technology and fit, Bern has been developing this division for several years and will release full details about the collection in January 2015.

“We have had a record year and see that momentum carrying across categories for us,” said Dennis Leedom, Founder of Bern Unlimited.  “Our entry into goggles has been long and methodical, and we feel we have the product and the distribution model to support its success.”

Bern recently appointed veteran employee Jennifer Thorn to the position of U.S. Sales Manager, where she will oversee all sales in the U.S. through management of the team’s sales representatives while lending support in development and marketing. Thorn will continue to grow Bern’s domestic account base, which has increased significantly over the past year as new territories open and expand the brand’s footprint.  Additionally, a 2015 partnership with the membership-based cycling program Bike Co-Op is set to increase the business, which is on track for double-digit percentage growth.
