B$Z: Mammoth Mountain Claims Top Industry Marketing Honors

Mammoth Mountain received the The National Ski Areas Association’s (NSAA) top marketing honor Tuesday, accepting the award for the “Best Overall Marketing Campaign” of the 2014-15 season. In naming Mammoth the recipient, the NSAA recognized the resort’s efforts to “ultimately help grow the sports of skiing and snowboarding.”

“Mammoth is a special place and we’ve got a uniquely talented team telling its story to engage our audience,” said Erik Forsell, Mammoth Resorts’ Chief Marketing Officer. “ I’m impressed by the marketing team’s work every day. It’s certainly validating to see the same acknowledgement by industry leaders.”  

It’s the second major recognition of Mammoth Resorts’ marketing efforts this week. Ski Area Management (SAM) also recognized The #MammothBeanie campaign, as the best intro of a hashtag.

“Both the @mammothmountain and @mammothunbound Instagram accounts boast a large following,” said Mary Walsh, online editor of Snowboarder Magazine and contributor to SAM’s annual best/ worst awards. “This year, engagement efforts were boosted with the #MammothBeanie hashtag, which was embraced by resort-goers who flooded social media with photos of their Mammoth experiences.”
