Dispatch hires Nick Legan as cycling communications specialist
SAN RAFAEL, Calif. (Sept. 10, 2012) – Dispatch today welcomed Nick Legan as a communications specialist. Legan will leverage his years of experience in the industry as a WorldTour-level mechanic and journalist while servicing the agency’s bicycle industry clients including Bell, Blackburn, Giant, Michelin and Shimano. Legan will remain based in Boulder, Colo., an important hub for the outdoors and bicycle industries, providing expert marketing and public relations services for Dispatch agency clients.
“Nick’s professionalism, technical expertise and passion for cycling allowed him toearn his way in as a respected cycling journalist and someone who I instantly enjoyed working with,” said Eric Doyne, Dispatch founder. “Knowing and respecting the daily life of journalists is a huge benefit that Nick brings to the table and his technical background is a perfect fit for my clients and the storytelling that we do at Dispatch.”
Legan recently left his post at Velo magazine and VeloNews.com where he served as the publication’s Technical Editor. Before that Legan worked in trenches of professional cycling as a mechanic with teams like Radioshack, Garmin, CSC and others, experiencing the sport at all three grand tours, the world championships and the 2008 Olympics. He continues to keep his hands dirty at The Service Course, the service-only bike shop he co-owns in Boulder.
