Recent MBA graduate is seeking sourcing and procurement employment opportunities within the apparel industry, allowing her to utilize her research, innovative, and merchandising skills as well as international experience. My holistic work experience within the apparel industry – retail, government policy, and non-profit – will enable me to excel in these roles.

• Sourcing: Sourced 30 pieces of material and products valued at more than $1,000 from 5 Kenyan vendors and local artisans for the US market, which increased the organization’s product options for customers’ diverse aesthetic tastes and expanded knowledge in negotiating prices in foreign currency. 

• Market Research: Executed over 100 hours of market research on fair trade fashion and homeware products by leading 4 focus groups segmented by age and occupation, resulting in targeted consumer data to inform senior executives about enhanced marketing strategies to maximize profit. 

• Data Analysis: Developed the organization’s first survey template and utilized Excel to analyze and visually present the data collected on potential consumers’ purchasing behaviors and price preferences.

• Independently designed sales collateral for 3 potential wholesale clients to expand distribution for organization’s product, ultimately resulting in the revamping of the organization’s wholesale policy.

Consumer Insights Intern

• Vendor Relationship Management: Co-led project to screen and interviewed socially conscious brands for potential consignment partnerships which strengthened vendor relationship skills. 

• Selected over 30 sample merchandise products from more than 100 products for Enrou’s promotional graphics and other promotional materials for its Fall 2014 marketing campaign.

• e-Commerce Merchandising: Developed over 4 product assortments from 20 vendors for Enrou’s Fall 2014 product line by analyzing fall color, style, and pricing trends; completed 20 purchase orders for inventory records and budget reviews.

Product Management Intern

•	Monetary Bookkeeping: Conducted over 200 hour of administrative research and records filing and preparation for biannual Federal Election Commission and Federal Lobbying reports to ensure the association’s compliance with federal regulations on Political Action Committees (PAC) and lobbying activities through detailed monetary tracking. 

• Managed administrative and financial components of the Retail Leaders PAC, supporting tasks leading to total fundraising of over $100,000.

• Project Management: Co-led the rebranding initiative of the Retail Leaders PAC by developing a quarterly newsletter which enhanced communications with over 30 donors and is now an integral part of Retail Leaders PAC’s marketing strategy.

• Engaged in over 150 hours of Congressional and Administration lobbying activities including meetings with offices of the Ways and Means Committee and Department of State; presenting RILA members’ concerns with international trade and product safety related policies, increasing U.S. legislative awareness of retailers’ business operations and issues.

Government Affairs Coordinator

• Communications: Provided content to AAFA members for decision making by authoring news briefs on developments in legislative and regulatory activities that would impact AAFA members’ operations.

• Participated in international trade forums to improve knowledge on U.S. international trade policies.

Government Relations Intern

• Customer Relationship Management: Advised more than 85 clients in the Men’s Furnishings department on styling their selection by leveraging product knowledge, improving clients’ shopping experience and resulted on average of $75 per transaction. 

• Increased traffic flow by about 10% throughout the department by creatively merchandising products valued at more than $30,000.

• Styled over 60 clients within the Missy segment, by listening to and identifying their lifestyle or special occasion needs, which resulted in over 10% repeat visits and increased individual sales by 5%.
