Abigail Scott: Shift lead, Barista, Delivery, Cashier

This experience has taught me the importance of knowing my customers, and knowing how to speak to such a wide range of individuals, as the shop was located in a downtown tourist hotspot. It has also given me a wide range of experience with the inner workings of running a business, with scheduling, leading shifts, delivery, and vendor connections being at the forefront of my duties.

This position gave me the experience I needed to know that my future career should be outdoor-based. I was responsible for watering schedules, clearing large areas to make room for more plants and installments, and removing clutter and underbrush to promote new growth. This was a physical challenge that I enjoyed, as I got the opportunity to push my mind and body to its physical limits.

This opportunity took patience and emotional stamina, as I was put in a management position for my first time, and became responsible for the lives of the employees under my care. This position is where my leadership skills bloomed, and I found my passion for talking to people and finding efficient, cohesive solutions.
