HELLO!

My name is Ailun Sai. I am a highly-motivated multi-disciplinary designer and merge creativity with positive social impact. As a thinker, maker, and do-er, I tackle problems through hands-on physical exploration, rigorous investigation and strategic intent to render the invisible visible. I also have a particular interest in exploring new possibilities in future scenarios and proposing open social questions with hypothetical alternatives.

Born in Dalian, China, I am currently based in New York. I graduated in May 2017 with an MFA in Products of Design from the School of Visual Arts in New York City. I hold a BFA in Industrial design from the China Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing.

In addition to being a designer, I am also an illustrator, artist, teacher, sports enthusiast, and animal lover.

 

1.Collaborated with research team on a month-long AR (Augmented Reality) project
2.Conducted research and provided User Experience Design including storytelling, storyboarding, scenario buildings, and user journeys

UX Designer (Freelancer)

1.Conceptualized, rendered, and created graphics for several LYFE Design products, including a pizza cutter, ice cream spoon, bottle opener, corkscrew, wine rack
2.Conceptualized and did package design for products listed above 3.Designed new layout for studio’s website
4.Edited and designed the product catalog brochures for the studio 5.Conceptualized, 3D modeled and rendered a series of lighting designs for Danish design firm Normann Copenhagen
6.Assisted in creating brand collateral, video, and renderings for “swirl pen” project
