ALEJANDRO LUGO: Operations Agent

• Prepare and disseminate dispatch release forms and weather reports from online databases for the flight crew that are necessary for a successful flight. • Arrange for fueling of aircraft based on information provided by release forms. • Prepare weight and balance forms by assessing aircraft load, fuel, and passenger weight. • As required by federal law and company procedures, file and maintain accurate flight papers/records. • On a daily basis, coordinate special services needed on aircraft such as servicing lavatories, cabin grooming, wheelchairs for customers and special emergency cleaning. • Efficiently operate boarding bridges, and coordinate boarding/deplaning of customers from aircraft. • Occasionally coordinate flight operations by communicating directly to pilots via radio about gate arrivals, and aircraft maintenance requests. • Responsible for ground security and ensuring operations follow security procedures established by federal regulations and company policy.

Full-Time • Using critical thinking skills and people management tools, I facilitate and direct the placement of up to 20 officers around screening locations to process about 10,000 travelers within an 8hr shift. • Overseeing screening checkpoint(s) and/or baggage screening operations on a day-to-day basis to include equipment, personnel, and the scheduling and rotation of personnel. • Prepare various types of communications such as morning briefings, checkpoint logs, reports, and documents that are germane to the work performed. • Engaging in continuous development of critical thinking skills necessary to mitigate security threats by identifying, evaluating, and applying appropriate situational options and approaches. Security Training Instructor Full-Time • Developed and tracked effectiveness of training programs. Monitor adherence to the established training programs to ensure standard work in the training programs. • Provide classroom training to keep team current on certifications, administer return to duty evaluations and remediation training as needed. • Facilitated and presented to groups of up to 25 people in a class, including participants at the managerial level. • Mentor & coach officers to address identified training needs. • Administer and score training exams. • Conduct audits and research to identify process deficiencies and improvements in current policies and procedures. Transportation Security Officer Full-Time/Part-time • Responsible for mitigating actual and potential threats against civil aviation and other transportation modes. • Help set up screening checkpoints for passengers and belongings. • Operate and calibrate x-ray machines, explosive trace detection units, walk through metal detectors, and body scanners.
