Worked with C-level executives to reengineer how APMEX did business. Built a team of data driven decision experts and went department by department helping the company transition from an outdated gold and silver retailed to a $1.5B eCommerce and software company. In this time the company grew to the #1 specialty retailer and #42 overall on the Internet Retail watch list. • Built APMEX’s first data warehouse consolidating data from online sales/purchases, customer service call/email logs and eBay transaction. • Led team focused on building specific BI and OMS software for the gold and silver industry. Later licensed and sold as additional revenue streams for the business. • Implemented the first CMS and Personalization strategy used online and in email providing better customer experiences and boosting customer loyalty. • Transitioned Marketing to segmented marketing campaigns and an LTV vs CPA model allowing a broader customer reach and more flexible budgets while maintaining efficiency and accountability. • Led the Marketing department through two VP transitions in a thirteen-month between the NY and OKC office. • Led Operation department while implementing new pick/pack algorithms boosting the team’s throughput by 23% • Implemented new heads up dashboards in Operations with real time KPI’s allowing teams to manage more effectively and monitor customer SLA’s. • Worked with Customer Service implementing heads up dashboards for wait times, customer feedback, sales targets and scorecard metrics. • Built voice to text software that allowed the company to use machine learning to mine phone calls with chats and emails for customer information and to audit Customer Service for score cards. • Built scoring system for high demand SKUs in Merchandising and transitioned the KPIs from a pure inventory turn target to a Gross Margin Return on Investment, allowing the Merchandising team to balance inventory turns and margin based on the score of the SKU. • Implemented a machine learning system to auto recommend reorder points and pricing based forecasted demand for SKU’s. This allowed Merchandising to focus on A and B SKUs while the algorithm managed other SKUs. • While leading the Finance department Build and/or Implemented new technologies including alternative payment, ORC technology, machine learning fraud prevention, and automated forecasting for hedging market fluctuations.
