Planned and executed all grassroots events for the year 2018. Worked closely with the national marketing manager to address the brand’s needs. Outlined this year’s Skate Skool to help bring new skateboarders into the market through direct experiences with the brand. Prepared time and budget sheets to better implement allotted funds for the core community. Worked closely with all core skate shops in the region to spread skateboarding both as a culture and as a business. Held weekly meetings with skate shop owners, ramp builders, and venue managers to better prepare for upcoming events. Prepared time schedules, food plans, and prize winnings for all events. Handled all logistics for event materials, ramps, and branding tents for all events. Measured and implemented all plans for effective branding. Visited future event spaces for allotment and effective planning. Held monthly meetings with Vans Korea marketing staff to handle future events effectively. Represented South Korea’s largest skateboard distribution company as both a team rider and marketing consultant on all things skateboarding. Responsibilities included testing of new products as well as marketing campaigns. Kept close relationships with the owner, CEO, and staff who run this massive operation. Constantly learned new marketing techniques as well as product placement within the skateboard scene.

Openly discussed and aided the national marketing manager of South Korea on all things skateboarding for the year 2017. Successfully planned and executed a complex video advertisement project while navigating complicated language and cultural barriers. Handled all team gatherings with an array of personalities and schedules. Successfully planned and implemented a tight budget both at home and abroad. Worked closely with the director and various videographers of said project in terms of the capturing and editing of video footage. Properly managed a group abroad while dealing with constantly new settings. Efficiently navigated ever-changing landscapes and cities while staying on-task.

Wrote and edited complex articles on a wide range of skateboard-related issues from start to finish at Unsung Skateboard Magazine, the only nationally-published skateboard magazine in the history of South Korean skateboarding. Covered a vast group of topics from product reviews all the way to social motifs found in skateboarding. Successfully navigated the elusive Korean skateboarding scene in most metropolitan areas of South Korea. Made important connections with key-players and important people found within the scene during marketing-based events and collaborations. Learned the locations of essential skateboard shops and the figureheads who run them. Essentially became socially intertwined with the majority of the top-skateboarders and distribution owners of the South Korean skateboard scene.
