I'm an entrepreneur, communicator and creative problem solver with a passion for engaging people into action. I’ve got a strong background in advertising, branding and public relations, and with nearly 20 years of experience, I have a proven record of leadership and success.

I co-founded Art of Board, a lifestyle and design brand that creates tile surfacing from recycled skateboards. I also co-created the first-ever international skateboard recycling movement, I Ride I Recycle. 

My strength is versatility. 

As a journalist, I've written for newspapers and magazines. As a PR account manager, I've put clients in those newspapers and magazines. As an accomplished copywriter, I've made personal connections with audiences through print advertising, radio and TV, package design, websites and trade show exhibits.

Some of the largest companies and organizations in the world have relied on me to develop their brand, including: American Eagle Outfitters, Giant Eagle Inc./Market District, UPMC Health System, Vocelli Pizza, PPG Industries, Fidelity Bank, University of Pittsburgh, the Heart Failure Society of America, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), The Art Institutes/EDMC, Tippmann Sports and many more.

Co-founded Art of Board, a lifestyle and design brand that creates eco-friendly interior design and apparel products from recycled skateboard decks. Created the world's first-ever skateboard recycling movement, I Ride I Recycle, which fuels the AOB brand. Manage recycling efforts for 400 skate and surf shops in the U.S. Run day-to-day business and manage public relations and social media activities. Play instrumental role in the business' brand development, business growth and evolution. Forge partnerships, close distribution deals and work closely with vendors, distributors, action sports companies and manufacturers to operate a sustainable design company that supports the sport of skateboarding and its many charitable organizations.

Write advertising and public relations copy including print ads, TV and radio spots, interactive and website projects, brochures, direct mail and press kits.  Serve as project manager and work with web and graphic designers to develop results-driven communications for clients such as American Eagle Outfitters, Tippmann Sports, Dell Computer Corp., PPG Industries, The Art Institutes and UPMC Health System.

Sole Proprietor: Copywriting/Branding/Public Relations

Wrote advertising copy for Giant Eagle, one of the largest privately held retail companies in the country.   Developed strategic advertising campaigns and create the brand voice for the entire business and its sub-brands: Giant Eagle Pharmacy, Market District and GetGo. Creative work included merchandise naming, in-store messaging, signage and point-of-purchase, print advertising, outdoor, radio, web, newsletters, brochures and direct mail. Worked closely with marketing and merchandising teams and serve as lead writer for the GetGo brand. Managed several lines of business within the company. Handled multiple projects and consistently met rigorous deadlines.

Advertising Copywriter

Wrote, produced, and edited creative copy for print ads, TV and radio spots, video projects, interactive and web, brochures and direct mail for the entire Art Institutes brand of schools. Developed creative concepts and strategies for effective, results-oriented advertising. Worked with creative teams to meet the national advertising goals of clients (31 total schools) and consistently met deadlines. Provided creative input on design and photography. Coordinated photo and video shoots. Scouted and cast talent for TV and print advertising. Cast and directed voiceover talent. Provided creative direction to film crews and TV editors in post-production.

Developed long-term creative public relations strategies for a variety of clients, including guerilla-marketing campaigns, press events and crisis communications. Coordinated satellite media tours and worked with reporters to publicize client messages. Wrote a variety of communications materials including news releases, pitch letters, creative plans, press kit materials, brochures, PSAs, print ads and web copy. Managed account teams and oversaw the work of account coordinators and interns.

Account Manager

Served as project manager and chief copywriter for the UPMC/City of Pittsburgh Marathon, as well as many other clinical programs within the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Coordinated the work of others and served as public relations liaison to management staff and faculty leadership of clinical programs. Wrote and edited copy for brochures, direct mail pieces, ads, web sites and miscellaneous other printed pieces; oversaw design and print production; monitored project budgets; handled copy approvals and other client relations.

Public Relations Specialist

Wrote, edited and proofread newsletters, brochures, annual reports, ads, web copy and other communications materials for the entire hospital system and its affiliated medical university. Managed and coordinated public relations for several hospital departments. Supervised interns and led creative teams to meet the communications goals of clients and consistently met rigorous deadlines.
