During my 6.5 year run as the post production manager at Indigo Post, it was my job to make sure all operations and projects were seen through to completion efficiently and above satisfaction. My position was multifaceted and required an equal level of effort and positive result in all aspects of my work. The project management side demanded that I work well under pressure to meet deadlines, manage multiple projects at once & provide my creative input to solve subjective situations. I needed to represent and interpret client needs, communicate effectively with my team to stay within time & budget, while exceeding client expectations by delivering the highest quality product possible. It was also my job to assist in the creative direction of our deliverables. This generally entitled me to choose audio that would compliment the piece, select stock footage, images and/or 3D models that are often called upon to help tell stories in motion. In order to do so, a clear understanding of the technical requirements in order to select the proper assets was required. I relayed information between our animators/editors to our clients & vice versa while maintaining a positive workflow amongst all. Before sending projects to the client, whether it be a review or final delivery, it was my job to quality check all deliverables making sure the client's needs are met (& exceeded!) or in the case of a mid-project review, to identify and communicate the areas that are still a work-in-progress & further line out how and when we intend on completing those needs. I was also the only project manager that worked on our interactive/app development department. On the company management side, in short, I kept the machine well-oiled. I updated our website and social media, I hired talent on a project to project basis, assembled and maintained budgets, invoiced clients upon delivery of their media, and handled the company bookkeeping. I wore many hats at Indigo Post, but I loved the challenge!
