Born in the Shenandoah Valley, I lived in Switzerland, London, Manila, and Hawaii before coming to Portland. The outdoors have always had a strong draw, from hiking and camping since childhood, to riding and working on track bikes, racing yachts off Diamond Head, and gravel grinding trails in the Pacific Northwest. I'm usually carrying a camera, sketchbook, and delicious snacks.

I have to say "I'm a design leader with proven experience in project leadership, agile and lean management, architecture, design, and consulting" but what I really mean is— I'm always looking for rad projects with rad people.

Consulting and management of internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to inform the RFQ process
Developing programmatic requirements and milestones in collaboration with stakeholders and client customers
Developing project budgets, capital and operating expense requests, and budget projections
Creating briefs and contract documents in collaboration with Procurement to secure effective vendor contracts
Collaborating with Schedulers to develop projected schedules and long-term proposed completion maps
Presenting briefs, budgets, and schedule estimates to executive stakeholders for approval, with informed recommendations backed by analysis and research
Developing, supervising, and analyzing plans and schematic diagrams for quantitative and qualitative satisfaction, including space planning, site efficiency, code and zoning constraints, and other factors. Collaboration with architects, engineers, surveyors, and city/urban planners to iterate and develop schematic designs into final plans.
Creating schedules and resource plans from broad to granular as dictated by the current project conditions.
Proactively identifying areas of risk and recommending strategies to mitigate risks.
Communicating daily, weekly, or as needed with project stakeholders regarding status, project health, team health, and other constraints including culturally and politically sensitive issues. 
Facilitating and supporting communication with all levels of personnel associated with the project, from field labor to executives and outside interests, e.g. community representatives.  



Project Lead / Owner's Representative, adidas Skateboarding

Confidential high-technology client, Hillsboro, OR

Led design development and execution of first-of-kind cleanroom systems under mission critical deadlines, using Lean, Last Planner, and Kanban methods in a Target Value Design integrated delivery environment. Directed a team responsible for $25M of work from schematic design through owner acceptance. Improved processes for future installs, working hand-in-hand with client stakeholders, design teams, and trades. Personally identified $5M of savings across the program. 

Core responsibilities included:
Stewardship of the Target Value Design process which requires close collaboration between client customer, design professionals, and project management
Leading a team of superintendents and project engineers dedicated to the scope discipline

Supervised a $300M integrated design/build city block remediation and redevelopment project in the cultural center of Waikiki. Directly collaborated with owner, architect/engineer, subcontractors, and tradesmen in a dynamic field environment to manage quality, ensure safety, and maintain schedule and budget. Personally responsible for concrete structural systems and engineering, site development, and environmental remediation.

Consulted as subject-matter expert for architectural and capital development clients.

Projects included mixed-use new construction in a historic district, high-end new residential, residential addition and renovation, historically listed renovation and expansion, and high-end commercial.
