Cal Coast Sports Ventures, LLC was created to provide and promote annual tournaments, leagues and platforms for sports in the Central Coast region of California, encouraging a competitive atmosphere for our athletes and providing additional business opportunities for our community.

Located along the Pacific Ocean, halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco, Santa Barbara is a premiere destination in the Central Coast of California and plans to become the premiere Lacrosse destination in the West Coast, playing host to tournaments for teams throughout California and the rest of the country, with the creation of Cal Coast Lacrosse and the Santa Barbara Showdown.

Cal Coast Sports Ventures, LLC held the 1st Santa Barbara Showdown, a premiere 90 Team Lacrosse Tournament at the Santa Barbara Polo Club, for U-9 through U-18 teams on October 18 - 19, 2014.

The Santa Barbara Showdown is a premiere Lacrosse Tournament at the Santa Barbara Polo Club for U-9 through U-18 boys and girls lacrosse teams. 

With over 5,000 visitors over our 2-day event, our 1st event had an economic impact of over $715,000 to the local Santa Barbara community (the 5th annual event with over $1.5million). Sponsors have included Pepsi, Gatorade, STX, Harrow Lacrosse, Lacrosse Fanatic, Warrior, Brine, String King, Hilton, Marriot, the Hangar SB, the Silver Palate, the Santa Barbara Lacrosse Association and the Clean Water Tour.  Teams from all over the country attended, including California, Arizona, Washington, Utah, New York, Massachusettes, and more…

The 6th annual tournament will be held in October 2019.

Mr. Quinn led the firm’s marketing and sales support team and contributed to many of the firm’s product development initiatives.  In this role, he oversaw all aspects of the securities lending marketing effort, including brand management, performance benchmarking, marketing, communications, advertising and marketing related web-content for Wachovia Global Securities Lending.  He also worked closely with line of business partners in Sales / Relationship Management, Trading, Operations, Technology and Risk Management to develop marketing strategy and communications plans that drove acquisition and retention efforts across targeted market segments.  He was also responsible for the management of external vendors associated with overall marketing and communications aspects.  Mr. Quinn joined WGSL in 2004 and served as a client service representative for some of the firm’s largest securities lending accounts.

Responsible for marketing, promotion, and pre-launch of BMW’s new vehicle, the X3.  Member of marketing team which planned numerous events each day throughout the southern USA.

1st Intern hosted by the Division of Intellectual Property at the University of Denver. Responsible for expanding corporate sponsor communication efforts, involving weekly Internet media packets. Created systems to track sponsor participation in college events allowing focused marketing, increased revenue & attendance.  Completed an extensive research project concerning athletic conference obligations of the University of Denver and related benefits, eventually leading to the migration into bigger, more competitive sports conferences and competitive landscapes.

Intellectual Property & Events Division

Rotated through television and film divisions of this fast-growing multimedia company.  Read, revised and synopsized scripts for potential movie, television show and feature length films.  Introduced to film budgeting, marketing, pre and post productions, as well as Foley and ADR stages.

Marketing, Screenplay Synopsis

Responsible for establishing relationships with 45 sports specific Internet sites and developing linking exchange.  Developed company’s Site Map and maintained Syndication Program of over 135 sport specific Internet sites.  Researched and developed working structure for companies Affiliate Program.  The company was a destination website for amateur sports enthusiasts to learn techniques to improve their game from the top professional coaches including David Leadbetter, Cal Ripken, Nick Bollettieri, Orvis Fly Fishing School and many others, winning awards from USA Today, Yahoo, and Forbes to name a few. In late 2000, the company merged with myteam.com, which is now part of The Active Network.
