A Business Leader with 2+ years of remote work experience, I'm passionate about leveraging the voice of the consumer to drive strategic business decisions. I was a student-athlete at Portland State University where I studied Psychology and Sociology. After college, I was given the opportunity to continue playing professional football for 7 years. Looking back on my sports career, it was achieving something as a team that I'll value the most. The ability to unlock the potential in others is what I've taken with me from sports into coaching and my professional career.

*In August 2022 ABi restructured its support of the Craft Beer Division. Continued opportunities at ABi would have required moving my family to New York. That was not something I was willing to consider at this time.

- Developed scaled brand marketing strategies for 21 national ABI craft breweries.

Director, National Brand Marketing BCBU

During the CBA-ABi merger, I was chosen for this role by the CMO. Tasked with braiding consumer listening strategies into the traditional strands of Brand Marketing. Armed with a fresh perspective and innate ability to connect with partners; I inspired internal and external teammates to think consumer-first. 

The Brewers Collective Business Unit (BCBU) is Anheuser-Busch’s High End Craft Division that consists of 21 Breweries across the Nation. As the Regional Brand Director, I was charged with recognizing and elevating the marketing acumen of those 14 breweries and identifying opportunities to maximize strategic efforts. 

- Developed a Brand-Listening Program & Playbook; educated brands on how best to capture the voice of their consumer & consumers ecosystem; informed and inspired business decisions in the absence of agency support. 

- Created ‘Peer2Peer’ shared learning program; identified high-performing brands and individuals across 60 sales and marketing functions at 21 breweries; leveraged various tools for best practice sharing across key Marketing and Sales strategies. 

- Led 9 Custom Research Studies spanning Consumer, Retailer, and Wholesaler communities for Brand Positioning, VBI, Core Creative Idea, Consumer Persona & Rebranding 

- Conducted industry-based research, including National Brand Audit project spanning 92 Wholesale partners, identifying impact and opportunities for current portfolios for 8 identified business units.

- Created Development Curriculum for Marketing 1YP preparation; provided targeted learning opportunities across multiple BU's preparing for annual Executive presentations.

- Lead bi-weekly, 60+ participant, Marketing call; orchestrated thought-provoking exercises for 21 brewery marketing teams, worked cross-functionally internally to organize and cascade critical updates and education.

- Designed & moderated focus group studies; providing direction for multiple innovation projects and national brand initiatives.

Director, Regional Band Marketing BCBU

The pH Experiment was an innovation incubator for Craft Brew Alliance focused on consumer-driven products, experiences, and solutions. Operating like a startup, a team of 5 individuals re-inventing how the beverage industry brings products to life. I provided experience in consumer insights research through qualitative and quantitative methodologies to drive unbiased direction. Success was achieved by allowing groups of targeted consumers to guide various elements of the innovation process; experience, product ideas, and branding. Tactics were executed in a pre-COVID environment and creatively modified to continue progress during times of COVID restrictions. 

*CBA and the pH Experiment were acquired by Anheuser-Busch in November of 2020.

- Provided direction on a cross-functional leadership team

- Curated an environment of active listeners through education and training in proper question formulation and bias awareness 

- Built and expanded a Co-Creator Community of over 500 National participants leveraged for driving direction via Focus Groups, Surveys, and Ethnographies for Copy, Branding, and Recipe evolution.

- Influenced Design Agency Briefs and direction using targeted consumer feedback & insights.

- Executed various digital and in-person storytelling techniques including Storyboards, Decks, Dashboards, and videos

- Created local business partnerships for brand exposure and program growth

Consultant Kicking & Punting Specialist

I was promoted into this role for my ability to lead and inspire a global team and elevate strategic partnerships. Focused on quickly and accurately bringing the voice of the consumer to drive actionable insights and recommendations to product design, development, engineering, and marketing functions. 

Key successes include: Skill development through mentoring, team culture building, and creating depth in partnerships. 

Quarterly goals were focused on team workload prioritization, resource expansion, and innovations within the mixed-method research design portfolio.

- Prioritized resources and led creative research strategies to validate $1 Billion in Nike Footwear Business

- Delivered strategic direction and vision to 14 members of a Global Performance Research and Consumer Insights team across; US, Europe, Taiwan, and China Markets

- Partnered with NBA Sports Marketing to create the NBA Partnership with Footwear Product Testing to grow category exposure to a higher level of consumer and the athlete ecosystem

Global Director, Nike Basketball - Footwear Product Testing & Consumer Insights

The Senior Analyst role is a hands-on leadership role. I led the strategy with a strong emphasis on overall team dynamics. This role manages the most technical product innovations. As a player-coach, I was able to inspire and lead the team in new directions, focused on international growth and US program evolution. 

- Within the first year, decreased program costs by 38% while increasing overall consumer engagement/participation through a revamped incentive program. 

- Expanded Insights Program into Western Europe (EHQ) as part of our Global Growth Strategy, resulting in key market testing and insights to influence design thinking, development, engineering and marketing teams on current and future innovations. 

- Cultivated key market growth, Los Angeles "Hub" for Elite level access to PRO, NCAA, and Drew League athletes, managed connections with key retailers, consumers, and product influencers to connect with relevant consumer trends.

- International collaboration building the European Summer League (Testing and Insights Camp). Category investment of 5x in year 2 to include design, marketing, and engineering teammate participation.

- Led strategy, as project manager, for planning and validation of key business drivers, influencing innovation and production using qualitative and quantitative research methods. 

- Designed and conducted large forums with athletes and industry professionals to increase category exposure and consumer understanding; public speaking

Senior Analyst, Nike Basketball - Footwear Product Testing & Consumer Insights

Grew and managed relationships with elite national programs, across multiple sports, for collecting performance feedback and authentic consumer insights.

- Created and maintained external partnerships with Nike's highest-profile assets at the collegiate and professional levels to conduct insights research and prototype testing.

- In 6 months, Expanded over 12 new NCAA Partnerships in alliance with Collegiate Sports Marketing to increase the depth of partnerships and align a more regional strategy

- Fostered the first formalized testing partnership with the NFL to leverage learnings from elite athletes and their ecosystem of support

- Partnered with MLB and MILB to create Nike's first testing partnership with Professional Baseball across multiple levels of the organization

- Orchestrated category engagement for 50 teammates at MLB Spring Training; Forums with Team Leadership, Sports Medicine, Strength & Conditioning, Equipment Staff, and Players to bring context and amplify cross-categorical knowledge about the consumer ecosystem

- Doubled ROI of our T&E budget by re-structuring our partnership with teams to leverage baseball, football and Mens Training at each location; maximize business travel budgets

- Designed custom testing protocols for a collaboration project with McLaren Motorsports, UK Innovation Team

 - Orchestrated a Retail Recruiting Program, 'SCOUT'; that trained and empowered retail associates to target and recruit specific consumers for product testing opportunities.

Retail is where I learned the importance of customer service and its contribution to the consumer's experience with a brand. 

I worked at the NIKE Flagship Store where I represented the brand to thousands of international travelers a year. I also worked at the Employee Store during the off seasons of my football career. This provided exposure to the culture, developed confident consumer interaction skills, and build my foundation of product knowledge.

- Master of Ceremonies (Emcee) for all Gear-Up Brand retail experiences; connecting hundreds of consumers to the marketing experience and build-outs highlighting the seasonal initiative each quarter.
