Darren Russell: Graphic Designer in Culver City, CA

At dreamGEAR I worked across three distinct brands (iSound, MyArcade and Bionik) creating packaging, editing photos and marketing materials like social graphics. I coordinated with factories in China and worked with brands including Bandai Namco™, Taito™ and Data East™ when creating licensed assets. After seeing the need for video production, I stepped up and tackled the task head on. After many successful projects and the progression of my skills in the space, it became a large part of my role. I also helped form a social event committee to build team moral.

I started off as an intern and worked my way into becoming a full-time staffer. At first I assisted with creating marketing materials, both print and digital, editing photos and creating emails. After a while I was put in charge of the organization’s entire web presence, executed and managed a team for email communications, and designed a whole season of match day programs from scratch. Various projects I was responsible for required working with C-level executives on a regular basis.

While at Worldwide Online Printing I learned a lot about the multitude of printing techniques, how best to use them, how much they should cost and production times. I also worked closely with clients to design business cards, flyers and booklets while making sure to work within the quoted design time frames.

Assisted in the production of assets for digital learning materials used in e-learning courses.
