Recently I came across an ad on www.indeed.com for your Director of Operations vacancy which coincides directly with my interests and experience. I am very interested in this position and thus am submitting my resume for your consideration. 
The ad states that you are seeking an experienced operations professional to assist in project work in Los Angeles.  I would bring to this position the following relevant experience:

•	Two years operations management in experience in a 3PL environment, specializing in distribution start-ups. While in this role I ensured inventory control, EDI and I.T. setup, WMS, YMS training and improvement. I also was responsible for budgeting of a yearly $780,000 budget. Also forecasting trends for carrier shipping, labor needs, and offering exceptional customer service. 
•	Two and a half additional years’ experience working at the Maersk terminal coordinating and leading the Strategic Planning department and working within $60,600,000 annual budget for my department.

Along with developing KPIs and setting terminal goals, I have been noted as being a dynamic team player who is ultimately capable of handling the hard pressed situations, exemplifying discipline, upholding to company values, and being a top performer two years in a row.

Specific functions while working within the vessel department includes hiring, ordering, and disciplining ILWU labor. 

Communicate operational requirements to all personnel and resolve issues.

Responsible for planning and executing weekly labor budget that is contingent on forecasted operational needs.

Yard and terminal planning functions include working with peers and upper management exercising and developing new processes to achieve terminal goals for KPI and terminal efficiency.

Developed allocation plans for container import and export efficiency along with the effect on increased terminal productivity.

Managed allocation of containers with use of Navis software.
