Production Engineer

Four Primary Responsibilities: Spare Parts, Rebuilds/Warranty, Setup Fixtures and Downtime Tracking.
- Lead Engineer tasked with coordinating the spare parts organization for all Ultra Lens Manufacturing Machines.
- Responsible for managing all Ultra rebuilds of subsystems/components. Includes sending parts to vendor for repair.
- Established setup fixture organization, identification and documentation; including designing new fixtures.
KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
- Project Manager for a $400K spare parts room; designed room layout and storage solutions, re-located 2,500 spare parts, and improved the process for finding and checking out parts.
- Project Manager overseeing the delivery and installation of a $15 MM contact lens manufacturing line.

MAINTENANCE AND RELIABILITY ENGINEER II – GLOBAL ENGINEERING

Collaborate as an effective team member to manage continuous improvement projects on a pilot line for implementation on production line manufacturing 10 MM contact lenses.
- Engineered and designed solutions to complex problems on high volume manufacturing equipment to reduce downtime, improve overall equipment efficiency (OEE), and verify product integrity.
- Executed validations and engineering studies on complex manufacturing and metrology equipment utilizing a data focused approach using Excel and MiniTab to identify issues.
KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
- Ensured FDA compliance by completing engineering change control processes to document equipment changes.
- Implemented new equipment into manufacturing process and communicated changes to manufacturing personnel.

MECHANICAL ENGINEER II – GLOBAL ENGINEERING

Served as engineering designer, drafter, and enterprise product data management (EPDM) administrator for plant manufacturing department.
- Completed root cause investigations for non-conformances of equipment and lens audit failures utilizing SolidWorks to design machine upgrades and lead design reviews on capital improvement projects.
- Collaborated with internal and external vendors to maintain quality control and documentation.
- Completed process improvement, quality assurance, and cost reduction projects updating standard operating procedures and preventive maintenance documents to prevent additional failures.
- Lead manufacturing training and support that increased process quality and reduced operator errors.
- Supported daily process-engineering by monitoring OEEs, yields, and downtime for 12 – 15 manufacturing lines.
KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
- Saved $80,000 annually by applying Green Belt techniques to CAPA (Corrective Action, Preventive Action) projects.
