KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the overall strategy and direction of MAP Active retail business in Thailand (240+ locations, 350+ employees), manage brands, elevate sales & marketing through retail operations, and enhance product categories and price points in such a way that will build market share, drive revenues, and maximize profit for the company.

Specific responsibilities include:

Financials
• To hold full responsibility for the Profit & Loss of Thailand business by devising and implementing strategic plans to meet both top- and bottom-line targets under challenging market situations.
• To hold full responsibility for meeting the profitability growth and other KPI targets as set and agreed by managing and monitoring the whole operations covering both front line and back office support.

Business Strategies, Planning & Development
• To formulate strategies and business plans according to the company’s long-term corporate development plan.
• To identify new business opportunities/brands, to further develop the commercial growth of the company, sustaining long-term performance through a robust and supporting infrastructure.
• To develop and drive the implementation of plans to achieve market share expansion, customer service quality and brand image objectives.
• To oversee and provide guidance on relationship management with malls/landlords to build up the company’s edge and capabilities in securing the optimal locations for new stores development.

Brand Management & Commercial Strategies
• Revamp existing brands and elevate perception among Thai consumers through appropriate marketing tactics and ensure its alignment with the company’s direction.
• To drive the strategy and implementation of digital marketing strategies and campaigns across websites and digital media channels (email, SMS, social media, blogs, LINE etc.).
• To prepare the company for future with an Omni-Channel business & improve shopping experience.

Operations Efficiency
• To bring in best practices and systems to achieve year-on-year productivity growth.
• To oversee and manage the operations across the market in a consistent and efficient manner by leveraging resources and creating synergies.

People
• To establish an effective team structure to support the strategy for the Thailand market. To recruit, build and motivate a strong and robust winning team.
• To lead and champion the implementation of talent management initiatives, such as developing of skills and competencies and succession planning, in order to enable business growth through enhanced capabilities.

Compliance and Internal Control
• To ensure Thailand operations are in compliance with the company’s standard and local legislation.

Significant Achievements
•	Turnaround Thailand business within 1 year of joining.
•	Developed the sports & fashion vertical for the company by acquiring Airwalk, Steve Madden & Nine West
•	Established the duty-free business for the company (adding USD 15 mil in sales) 
•	Develop the supply chain strategy that meets company performance objectives, planned expenses and customer expectations
•	Have been instrumental in shaping up & defining the architecture for ERP implementation


Reporting to: Group Chief Commercial Officer in Company HQ in Jakarta, Indonesia
Brands: Adidas, Nike, Puma, Oakley, Srixon, TaylorMade, Calvin Klein, Wilson, Babolat, Forza, Spalding, Timex, Honma, Mizuno

•	Led a team of 9 managers along with 30 additional employees with annual revenues in excess of 30 million USD (100+ stores) to drive sales of Golf, Tennis, Badminton, Basketball watches & eyewear. 
•	Responsible for full spectrum of operations including retail planning, marketing, wholesale, contract negotiation, buying & merchandising.
•	Oversee marketing campaigns from inception to optimisation, liaise with internal marketing team and external media partners, manage campaign budgets and monitor schedule.
•	Conceptualise and implement strategies for events and promotions; ensuring consistent brand communication throughout all marketing collateral and campaigns.
•	Maintain strong relationships with key partners; comprehend on-the-ground sentiment and understand consumer wants and trends; utilize information to drive campaigns & grass root activities (demos, events, sponsorships) to increase customer satisfaction and grow year-on-year revenues consistently.
•	Proactively source for trends in sports to best position the company’s brand; drive brainstorming sessions with team to drive awareness of trends and new ideas for revenue generation.
•	Establish a succession plan program to groom and mentor key personnel; ensuring a consistently high standard of leadership for future development.


General Manager (Golf & Sports)

Reporting to: Director (Pan-West) in Singapore Shareholders Office & CEO (Sports) in Company HQ in Jakarta
Brands: adidas, Nike, Puma, Oakley, Srixon, TaylorMade, Callaway, Odyssey, Honma, Mizuno

• Control & direct the sales and merchandising activities, with bottom line responsibility for the overall strategy & execution, duties include operations of Pan-West retail stores across Singapore & Malaysia (50 Stores).
• Responsible for developing, managing and executing marketing, merchandising and buying strategies.
• Execute the Campaigns and Promotions (including grass root activities) in coordination with the buyers & product managers.
• Identify, recommend and implement appropriate new stores and work flow, as well as cross-examine business needs to meet the company's and market's demand.
• Evaluate business performance and propose solutions for further improvement.
• Work closely with the regional offices to ensure goal and strategy alignment.
• Monitor and analyse key performance measures and ensuring proper corrective actions are taken by respective function leaders.
Significant Achievements
• Conceptualized and spearheaded a new business arm after identifying consumer demand and a gap in the market; expanded presence into departmental stores (Takashimaya, Isetan, Metro, and Parksons) & various pro-shops (country clubs). New business arm increased revenue by 40%.
• Spearheaded creative development of planning and category planning strategies, including selection of range of product and style focus targeted at high-end luxury customers.
• Diversified revenue streams and expanded product portfolio to include complimentary products such as apparel, footwear and accessories. Expanded portfolio enabled stores to become a one stop shop for golf enthusiasts and expanded outreach to non-golf clientele.
• Spearheaded introduction of new in-house brand, "Katana". New brand provides improved margins and enables better tailoring of products for local markets.
• Identify growing eCommerce segment; initiated and developed a platform for the company in 2013, pursuing an omni-channel strategy which resulted in a significant increase in foot traffic for physical retail stores.
• Sourced and acquired distribution rights for high profile key brands such as Honma for distribution into emerging markets such as Indonesia.

General Manager (Singapore & Malaysia)

Reporting to: Managing Director
Brands: adidas, Nike, Puma, Oakley, Srixon, Cleveland, US Kids, TaylorMade, Callaway, Odyssey

• Responsible for all aspects of brand management and retail operations for sports retail stores across India
• Used macro-analysis to develop and execute product line, pricing, release and life cycle management for more than 30 international golf brands in equipment, apparel, footwear and accessories.
• Aligned company's business strategy with product offerings and marketing initiatives; identified key consumer groups and tailored product strategies accordingly ensuring maximum margins & market share.
• Planned and launched Golfworx retail stores; produced business plan for large volume imports from international brands which allowed company to expand product offerings at a lower cost.
• Introduced a new niche product - High Definition Golf Simulators. New product was a first in India and received highly positive reception from customers. Simulators served as a good tool to attract customers & in-store trials which resulted in better sales of golf equipment.

Brand Manager

Reporting to: General Manager (Buying & Merchandising)
Category Strategy & Direction
• Develop an understanding of national & international category trends that translate into effective strategies to capitalise upon all relevant current & future opportunities.
• Develop national category strategies (across product, price, placement & promotion) to drive differentiation & deliver against financial objectives.
Category Planning
• Make national category plans align to all B&M merchandising policies.
• To develop local category insights through the analysis of the market, the shopper, the consumer & competitors.
Vendor Relations
• Develop & leverage the relationship with key national vendors to the benefit of the supermarket business within the agreed strategies.
• Negotiate national trade terms with vendors annually in line with the agreed calendar & monitoring their performance.
Category Implementation
• Conduct Category reviews as defined with the Range review process- with inputs from the zones & market visits.
• Effective management of stock levels in stores & DC's to achieve agreed days cover
People Management
• Develop personal competencies to deliver the category plans within the defined company behavioural standards.

Deputy Manager (Buying & Merchandising)

Reporting to: General Manager (Brand Relationship)
Planning
• Developing & executing effective marketing plans, including P&L structures designed to assure achievement of agreed-to volume, market share and profit objectives.
• Analysing marketing trends and tracking competitors' activities and providing valuable inputs for product enhancement and fine tuning sales strategies.
Budgeting
• Formulating annual budgets including sales targets, desired ASP and conducting variance analysis to determine difference between projected & actual results and implementing corrective actions.
• Identifying the desired category mix and planning the options and stocks accordingly.

Brand Management
• Redefining base stock from the current level, based on the area, planned options, sales targets and trends in order to create the desired look within the brand.
• Participating in every range presentation and giving in information about the new season merchandise from the perspective of "Look & Feel".
Stock Management
• Interfacing with suppliers for sourcing of products including analysis of pricing parameters & profit margins, to secure the best interests of the organization.
• Planning options month wise/ weekly to hit the store required to be communicated to the front end and ensure the thought is shared in advance which will also serve as the VM guidelines.

Senior Executive - Brand Relationship

Reporting to: General Manager (Merchandising)
Product Management
• Managed the GAP and Abercrombie & Fitch apparel account with exposure to woven.
• Coordinating with IED Team, R & D, and Pattern & Grading Departments for fast and foolproof approval of products.
• Setting up T & A's and ensuring the attainment of the same by coordinating with Technical Advisors for approvals.
• Conducting random inspections at Fit, Proto, SMS, Size set & PP sampling stage at Production/ Finishing/ Packing Floor.
Costing
• Monitoring the task of Pricing-Target, Quotation, 1st, 2nd and final price negotiation & open costing.
Sourcing
• Performing follow-up with the Vendors for Fabrics & Accessories in order to ensure on time delivery of products.
