Derek Mayfield: Partnership Sales & Marketing Intern in Port Orange, FL

As a Partnership Sales & Marketing Intern, my main responsibilities are to assist both teams in daily functions. I work with both Sales and Marketing account managers with daily management tasks with each account, like researching leads for potential partnerships and creating marketing materials for current partners. I also assist in building brochures, recaps, and videos for marketing purposes.

As an Account Executive, it was my primary duty to sell tickets. I drove daily sales by communicating with new and returning, individual, group and business prospects. I also used effective customer service skills to help address and rectify consumer or account issues. I was also in assistance for any event staff responsibilities in regards to race day operations.

As a Game Presentation Intern, it was my responsibility to assist the Game Presentation Coordinator in all in-game promotions. I created and distributed game day scripts, while also handing out marketing collateral and celebratory packages to consumers. I also assisted with the construction, striking and coordination of offsite events, like Flyers Training Camp, Flyers 5K, and Flyers Playoff Block Party.

As an Event Operations Intern, I assisted in the logistics and coordination of NASCAR events and Firefly Music Festival. My duties included researching prospective vendors for events, including cost quotes for assets and the handling of administrative duties for the company. I also handled the hiring and scheduling of event staff.
