As part of the final university project, partnered with a team of 5 and sponsor DOW Chemical to develop a new device for cleaning areas of the manufacturing plant – focused on safe, non-hazardous, efficient alternatives for cleaning a Teflon scraper for eliminating excess polymer build-up on semiconductor polishing pads. Liaised with DOW employees to gain an understanding of processes, workflows, and needs in order to define project scope.
Selected Achievements:
• Successfully delivered a working prototype of a slider system, complete with a test / analysis and engineering drawings for manufacturing.
• Improved plant safety and reduced downtime by introducing a new method for cleaning the Teflon scraper.
BAE Systems
Technical Intern III | 05/2011 - 08/2012
Coordinated a group project to create strategies for BAE to effectively implement social media platforms for free marketing. Additionally created an action item matrix providing real-time updates on changes in equipment, system updates, or program changes to DDG 51 ships. Conducted tests of Microsoft project database files to determine suitability for department lead use. Maintained the DDG 51 program filing system, including converting files from hard copy to electronic folders.
