Georgia Taggart: in Morpeth

July 2017 From my time volunteering at a charity shop I got to interact with customers, assisting to their needs as well as managing the tills and stock room. From this I have gained great customer service skills and an understanding of retail and finance. Hospital Volunteer I act as a hospital ward volunteer where I interact with patients undergoing chemotherapy. From this I have gained confidence and people skills which I believe could be transferable to any job. Whilst volunteering here I have been able to improve my people skills as I believe that as working as part of a voluntary role, a key importance is maintaining attention and respect for the patient as well as helping to cater to their needs and wishes. This role has also helped me to improve my time management skills as working under pressure and time constraints is a big part of the job and is something that I have without a doubt improved upon. My communication skills have also undergone significant improvements in order to maintain good relations with the patients.
