•Keep informed of design, research, engineering and marketing developments to constantly improve design ability, related product and industry knowledge.
•Study consumer trends related to design. Proactively adapt and conceptualize these trends as suggestions for future products or product line introductions or enhancements.
•Determine materials, construction, mechanisms, shape, color, surface finish, manufacturing processes, and packaging in cooperation with other business functions involved in the development of new products.

My primary duty was to oversee the execution of all hardgoods and ensure that the products go to market with the quality expected from the brands we design for. I was responsible for maintaining the design languages between multiple brands that our company develops products for.
Primary Functions Include -
- Work with all cross functional partners to execute world class products
- Build and execute a 5 year product plan
- Accountable for all Industrial Design tasks within R&D
- Manage internal Industrial Designers
- Accountable product adherence to established testing standards
- Responsible for global product development group budget, PO approvals and tracking
- Participate in sign-off of tooling collateral and all peripheral parts prior to tooling – Design Reviews, Tooling Sign-offs, Etc
- Interface with Mechanical Engineering, Prototype Shop and Manufacturing Engineering teams to bring world class products to market
- Accountable for the creation, maintenance, and publication of all product development schedules
- Accountable for the on-time delivery and reliability of all new products.

- Accountable for ensuring that the personnel are maintaining their projects communication information on the Project Status Sheet, Bill of Materials(BOM), schedules and Design Checklists

- Provide model making support to Industrial Design team.
- Be able to understand design language and communicate on a deeper level in order to help execute the Industrial Designers intent.
- Incorporate draft considerations into patterns.
- Manage or lead in the execution of more difficult or complex jobs.
- Produces prototype parts fabricated from existing pieces, modified per instructions or newly made pieces produced from temporary tooling made according to dimensions or other instructions provided, e.g.: sketches, drawings, or verbal instructions.
- Creates master patterns for mold making from preliminary design models
- Constructs prototype parts and assemblies from sketches, drawings, or CAD files.
- Interfaces with manufacturing to develop prototypes of jigs and fixtures required for production and assembly of new products.
- Constructs miscellaneous jigs and fixtures for testing and evaluation of new product designs.
- Responsible for creating, maintaining, and using the latest most accurate methods of casting, painting or other technical processes that are used in the shop for the helmet development process.
- Ability to faithfully execute master patterns from the following various stages of design while working under the direction of an Industrial designer—Foam eggs, clay, ½ master, etc.
- Pre-production sample creation and assembly.
- Manage or supervise a department on a temporary basis in a supervisor’s absence.
- Handle immediate, critical matters as they occur, such as safety, effective use of materials, equipment, etc., but refer routine discipline problems such as inefficiency, horseplay, tardiness, etc., to supervisor for resolution.
- Be self-motivated: show initiative and creativity: establish new techniques, and introduce new thinking to established model making practices.
- Stay current on model making technology through organizations, reading, seminars, trade shows, etc
