1. Utilized Altair Activate, Compose and OpenModelica to construct the model of PMSM motor with inverter, speed and current controller.
   a. Built Park-Clark equation-base and look-up-table-base model for PMSM motor, field-orientation current control and space vector PWM inverter.

2. Design Smart Battery Charger (battery modeling and simulation) for e-Mobility project – BMS (Battery Management System)
     a. Built Equivalent Electrical Model (OCV-R-RCs) and SPM (Single Particle Model) for battery modelling.
     b. Built Passive Cell Balancing, CC (constant current) and CV (constant voltage) Charging Algorithm, and Thermal model (Ohm’s law).


1. UMTRI/MEDC program - Automated Vehicle HMI (Human Machine Interface) Evaluation
       a.  Developed and evaluated an approach to rapidly assess the safety and usability of vehicle driver interfaces
       b. Utilized the FPDE (Find, Perceive, Decide, Execute) method to predefine and evaluate the problem of vehicle HMI before the on-road test.
2. Designed a specific route to execute the on-road test and examine ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control), FCW (Forward Collision Warning), LDW (Lane Departure Warning), BSW (Blind Spot Warning) and LKA (Lane Keep Assistance) systems of three various vehicles.
3. Compared problems from the on-road test with those identified in the pre-drive analysis to validate the reliability of the FPDE method.

Assistant in Research

1. Lead a five-person team to design a “Next Generation EV and PHEV Battery Tray”
     a. Managed design requirements and team schedule. Acted as the team liaison working with the CAE and EV teams.
     b. Oversaw and planned the pilot-built battery tray manufacturing schedule for engineering and regulation test.
2.  Designed and tested vehicle floor structures for a mass-produced welfare vehicle and MPV.
3.  Analyzed and solved various production issues of MPV/SUV to improve assembly accuracy of the front floor structure.
4. Executed VA/VE (Vehicle value analysis and value evaluation) and benchmarked competitive vehicles for cost reduction.
5.  Built and released ECR/ECO (Engineering Change Request/Engineering Change Order) as well as BOM in Product Life Management system.
