ART DIRECTOR GRAPHIC/TEXTILE - KOHLS Oversees the art direction to ensure consistency and differentiation of brands across division, consistent with market trends, brand position and business strategy. Works collaboratively with peers to improve processes and enforce best practices across the entire department. Researches global color, print, and graphic direction in the market in order to identify and interpret new trends for the division. Lead color research & art direction for graphic, print & pattern, branding & trims and color trend each season. Communicates and translates strategies and decisions back to the team. Influences Sr leadership from both PD and merchants to adopt innovation and newness. Creatively and strategically manages the in-house Creative Teams for Kohl’s Juniors and 7-16 private brands (Sportswear / Active) Strive for continued elevation in aesthetic and disruptive thinking - retaining loyal & valued customer base while always looking up and out into gaining new brand enthusiasts. Build and nurture talent, ensuring full potential is being maximized across the total team, and ensuring their positive creative energy pulses through to the final product collection each season. Present seasonal color/ graphic/print/product directly to department heads for approval. Works interdepartmentally with Product Development, Design and Buying to see all color/ graphic/print product through from concept to production. Manages design/art calendar. Works with R&D Specialists on innovative graphic/print and wash techniques.
