• iPad system design - Owned the design and implementation of iPad sub-systems from concept phase to product shipment. • Cross-functional collaboration - Lead the communication of teams across a range of technical expertise. Worked with antenna theory, LCD design, electrical engineering, manufacturing, reliability, and program management teams to understand and convey design and schedule constraints. • Validation planning - Created build and test plans to ensure complete and efficient validation of systems. Optimized prototype builds and team resources to allow effective data collection and design down-selection. • Failure analysis - Worked with reliability engineers to identify and root cause product failure modes. Utilized CT scans & X-rays, swap testing, commonality analysis, etc., to define cause of failure and inform design iteration.

3D printer design - Developed mechanical design for external body and sub-assemblies of 3D printer: LCD and backlight module, liquid resin circulation system, machine chassis & motion assembly. • Fluid control - Designed and resin cooling and circulation system, optimizing for fluid temperature and velocity (analyzed via COMSOL Multiphysics). • Rapid prototyping - Quick turn-around design, fabrication, and testing of in-house devices used for experimentation. • Mechatronics management - Defined the required specifications for electro-mechanical subsystems of the machine, such as: stepper motors, controllers, power supply.

Biomedical device design - Determined root cause of typical failure modes of an endoarterial biopsy catheter. Introduced design and process changes to mitigate common device failures and improve yield.
