The Australian Trade and Investment Commission, or Austrade, is the Australian Government's trade, investment and education promotion
agency. Austrade's services and programs are delivered through a national and global network of 80 offices with 1,200 staff.
EXECUTIVE OFFICER
The Senior Executive Assistant holds a key role in the management of the CEOs office by providing comprehensive and high-
level support to the CEO and senior managers within the Australian Head office. The role spans a breadth of disciplines
including strategy and planning, stakeholder engagement, correspondence, reporting, and staff management.
Initially appointed to re-build existing process and to deliver a pro-active framework to support the CEO's agenda.
Subsequently promoted to Executive Officer to provide strategic advice and guidance and maintain business flow.
Coordinated the day-to-day activities of the CEO, including but not limited to extensive scheduling and calendar
management, and preparing briefings and materials for high-level meetings and events.
Assisted with the preparation of Ministerial Submissions and media releases.
Organised and facilitated the Leadership/Management/External meetings, preparing detailed agendas, information
handouts, and Board papers. Organised agendas and briefing papers for the CEO to be able to meet personally with
local and international, multilateral institutions and associations.
Acted as the main point of contact for the CEO liaising with business influencers, media, government agencies,
Ministers, and clients, and provided responses on behalf of the CEO where required.
Forged strong and lasting relationships with colleagues and stakeholders of all levels across the agency to influence
outcomes, maintain business momentum, and ensure deadlines are achieved.
Partnered with Strategy and Business Transformation office on delivering a new digital transformation program for the agency. This included a full capability assessment.
Supervised and provided leadership and direction to a team 2 FTEs (administration), and indirectly managed all staff of different levels and capacity across the agency.
