Senior Designer

I believe impactful design transcends aesthetics and function; it encompasses an awareness in branding, storytelling, relevant trends and cultural currents.  It's emotional.  Creating something meaningful which deeply engages the consumer is both a challenge and inspiration. Producing that product also carries with it an ethical responsibility to the environment and the people working across the supply chain.

Travel, the great outdoors, music, art and architecture are sources of continuing inspiration.  A genuine curiosity for textiles, silhouette, construction and function inform my evolving design and development process.

I grew up outside of Boston and studied in New York and Milan, receiving my BFA in International Fashion Design from FIT in 2009.  I later studied Sustainable Design at FIT where I was awarded the Sustainable Design Entrepreneurs Certification in 2020.  I’ve lived and worked as a designer in Europe and New York, and currently in Los Angeles, working for St. John.

Senior Designer / Consultant

- Heading up RTW Cut & Sew Division, reporting directly to VP
- Research current trends and shop market for reference samples for both knits and wovens categories (current market / consignment / and vintage)
- Apply findings from research to generate sketches and design a seasonally relevant, cohesive collection that is well balanced in fabrication and thoroughly merchandised
- Generate tech-packs with clear silhouette, garment construction, and trim information to overseas factories.
- Correspond daily with factories / vendors / mills for sample development
- Travel to 4x yearly to Asia for development / sourcing
- Travel to Europe for market research / shopping with VP
- Manage Product Development Associate 
- Work with cross functional teams from sample development through bulk production

Freelance Designer

- Collaborated with and reported directly to Vice President on concept, trend research, and design development
- Proposed concepts, created computer and hand sketches, presented tears/market research,
compiled samples to reference detail/silhouette (vintage/bought/or top-selling repeat bodies)
- Headed up structured wovens categories including all Denim and Outerwear.
- Collaborated / led freelancers in developing soft wovens designs
- Designed/managed knit active / heritage categories
- Created technical sketches and tech packs for prototypes/salesman samples/production
- Collaborated with technical designer in developing specs and processing all fit comments from prototype through to production
- Created styles in DeSL; processed all design updates and changes from initial sketch to production
- Communicated with Hong Kong office on all stages of development with daily email correspondence, line plan updates, and notification processes in DeSL
- Collaborated with men’s design team to create brand synergy by identifying details/colors/creative ways in which to align men’s and women’s categories while elevating overall brand image

Woven's Designer - Women's Global Design (Full Price Retail and International)

- Designed/ managed complete fashion collections for the Sportswear line, reporting directly to CEO/President of Design Ulli Ehrlich:
- This included outerwear, down program, jackets, blouses, dresses, skirts, sweaters, tops, pants, denim, fleece program for ski & accessories, and all cooresponding embroideries/ graphics/ embellishments
- Created all technical sketches/ tech packs/ BOMs for prototypes/ SRS /production
- Sourced/ developed innovative fabrics/ trims/ prints/ embellishments at frequent vendor visits
- Selected, calculated, and initiated ordering of fabric and accessories/ hardware for sampling
- Worked directly with in-house pattern-makers and sample-sewers to develop internal prototypes
- Led fittings for my styles; communicated/maintained organized record of all comments/changes
- Communicated with factories in Asia/Turkey to ensure accurate, on-time prototype development
- Collaborated with product manager, technical design, sales and production teams to ensure timelines were met, and that style, quality and price met objectives
- Participated in seasonal meetings with agents to present collections/ identify growth opportunities
- Traveled seasonally within Europe for sourcing and trend research, including: Munich Fabric Start,
Premiere Vision Paris, View Munich, Texworld Paris, Performance Days Munich, Bread and
Butter Berlin, Premium Berlin, and ISPO Munich
- Traveled to Turkey for product development/ sourcing/ factory visits

- Assisted with fittings and presentations of the sweaters collection to cross functional teams
- Sat in on sourcing meetings with yarn and knit design sources
