Jessica Fink: Customer Service/Graphic Designer in Otsego, MI

I was hired in as prepress specialist. As a prepress specialist, I edited clients files to make them print ready. I also would get design projects for offset and digital print jobs. These design projects would include store signage, books, calendars, and business literature I then was promoted into the supervisor of the prepress department. In this role I managed three different departments in different cities in the USA. I managed the prepress in Battle Creek, the prepress department in Livonia MI, and the prepress department in Indianapolis IN. In this role, I was responsible for approximately 20 people, and the buying and updating for software and hardware for the prepress departments. I then moved into a customer service and project management role. In this role, I plan the projects through the seven different facilities and processes, everything from the design work, printing, bindery work, packaging, to finally the shipping and finally the billing.

I was hired in as a traditional plate and dark room operator. From this role I transitioned to a traditional table stripper, where I hand stripped negatives, and did layout flats for plate making. I then moved into the role of Computer Prepress operator, where I would set up clients files to make print ready for the presses. Most of our work at Imperial was form printing for the medical research industry. I also received training on how to run digital print equipment such as docutechs and minoltas
