Jessica MOncrief: Freelance Photographer in Huntington Beach, CA

As a freelance photographer, I am responsible creating a customer base, retaining and expanding that base through networking, word of mouth and creative marketing. I write up contracts and release forms for commissioned jobs, scout locations, stage and execute photo shoots, edit images, and deliver a finished product according to deadlines.

With my current position at Dominion Enterprises, I am responsible for maintaing a route of 10 different Automotive dealerships. I keep track of the inventory of new and used cars on the lots. Not only do I photograph each vehicle in detail, but I correctly enter in specific options, prices and warranties. After visiting each dealership on my route for the day, I link photos to the cars and upload them to our company server, where they are then sent to several different feeds including ad companies and the dealership's official website.

In the 5 years I worked with Big Wheel Magazine, I started as a contributor, submitting photos and articles of concerts. I was promoted to Lead photographer within a year and then took on more responsibility within the following 6 months. I researched and maintained the concert listing weekly, worked with promoters, bands, record labels to obtain media passes, delegated assignments to staff members, maintained the back end of the website including posting articles, and uploading photo galleries to our server, and responding to emails.
