Lead Mechanical Design Engineer (Freelance pos.) | 10/2005 - 12/2017

Responsibilities: • Mechanical designer and engineer of multiple bicycle products for the Terrible One BMX brand • Lead the product development, design and validation for bicycle components, with a strong focus on understanding of material properties and characteristics for optimal design • Products designed: handlebars, stems, sprockets, bicycle frames, pedals, and forks • Constructed multiple FEA simulations for testing the strengths of T1's products and how they would handle bicycle rider loading under extreme situations • Ran mechanical lab Strength / Failure tests on the Steel tubing used for Terrible One's BMX Bicycles frames • Incorporated DFMA principles into product design, allowing for product interchangeability with various other bicycle brands. • All work completed in SolidWorks software while incorporating GD&T fundamentals.
