Area Sales Manager

An outgoing, self motivated and dynamic leader with a thorough background in national sales strategy and development of market position. 11+ years of proven progressive sales experience with advanced skills in managing multiple teams and projects simultaneously while using strong interpersonal skills to work across internal organizations at experience based brands in the United States and Canada while developing a skill set that includes negotiation, consumer and dealer direct marketing, internal/external communications, event activation, sales, technical training and brand management while being the face of a brand to dealers and consumers while coordinating with US and Canadian teams that generate over $55 Million in sales annually.  

Responsible for developing, managing and executing the sales, marketing and event strategy in the PNW/NW. This includes directly hiring, developing and leading a team of specialized, revenue focused Regional Sales Managers covering WA, OR, AK, ID, WY, MT, ND, SD, IA, MN, WI, and IL as well as driving current and new business relationships for the Garmin and Tacx Brands with an additional individual focus on development of key accounts within the region.

Expanded base and level of distribution of Garmin products in WA/OR/AK across multiple product segments and a range of customers from specialty B&M, ecomm, national B&M, 3rd party, buying group and multi channel distribution. Focused on developing the team I worked with and exceeded goals presenting soft and hard skills that earned me a promotion to Area sales manager within 15 months of being with the company. 

Regional Sales Manager - PNW

Closed the 2013 year with an increase in sales over 3 year average through a national dealer network comprised of over 600 dealers. 

Coordinate and present over 35 national sales meetings each year on the “A-Tech” campaign. These meetings are developed as a sales and training tool to the dealer network and range from small personal individual dealer meetings to large training sessions of 35+ attendees. 

Develop proactive merchandising plans, sales goals and marketing plans with key national accounts. (CycleGear, Revzilla.com, Sportbiketrackgear.com, Motorcyclesuperstore.com, Bikebandit.com) with the intention to establish and present the brand as full collections to multiple demographics. 

Travel 25% of schedule for event activation and management, role includes layout planning/design, setup/breakdown, staff management and promotion management while being the face for the brand to consumers and fans. The event calendar for 2012 -2013 included; Austin Moto GP, Laguna Seca Red Bull Grand Prix, Indianapolis Moto GP, FIM Supercross series, FIM Outdoor National series, National distributor events and dealer events. 

Develop North American sales/promotion/dealer marketing budgets with National Sales Manager and Global Chief Financial Officer with an emphasis on designing a budget that will facilitate dealer growth, branding and recognition in North America.

Travel 35% of schedule working with national distributor representatives developing the North American dealer network, this includes technical training, sales training, promotion activation, event planning, store design, layout and development of proactive merchandising initiatives. 

Develop Technical training calendars and events for national dealer network and consumers, working as the face of the brand at events with the ability to provide technical knowledge and training to the highest level while making sure the message does not get diluted through the channels of dealer to consumer levels.

Dealer Developer

•Identify and analyze industry trends with historical sales data for locations to ensure the best selling inventory is always moving through the San Diego locations.

•Established key relationships with store managers and merchandisers

•Build and maintain orders based on location using order management systems (Full Circle)
 
•Develop seasonal promotions with individual store management to increase sell through figures.

Outside Sales

•Manage a team of sales and service advisors while providing training in sales systems, customer service, technical training and time management.

•Control and maintain the Mission Viejo Social media with diverse posting’s reaching out to many types of cyclists.

•Increased high end sales by 24% over first seven months leading to a 21% increase over 2011 year end goals.

Sales/Service Manager

•Assist in the implementation of the X games Marketing plan from set up, execution and break down

•Organized and prepared merchandising for clients and sales team members attending X Games, events and seasonal sales meetings to reinforce Sales Management and Marketing team’s efforts.

•Attend industry tradeshows such as Agenda and build relationships with clients, buyers and fans.

•Developed alternative marketing plans for the ’12 X- Games event to better utilize marketing budget and increase possible reach by nearly 200%.

•Developed a market segment report  for leveraging social media presence for Metal Mulish at ’12 X Games built around key athletes social media followings (FB, Twitter) to determine the percentage chances that they can win or podium in a fan based voting system.

•Consolidated, compiled and shipped national/international promotional and product packages for Sales Management team members to ensure timely and accurate delivery.

•Observed, assisted and examined Director of Marketing in collaborating with sales and design teams to formulate future strategies.
