During my professional career I have started out by working as an Operations Intern.  During this role i worked on several major projects, including designing and implementing Gemba Boards.  These boards were designed to keep all the relevant manufacturing data in a common place and to get the upper level managers out on the floor for their daily production meeting.  
Following this position and graduating college i worked as an Inventory Control Analyst.  During this position i learned how to use SAP and investigate inventory discrepancies.  I worked closely with the buyer/planners during this role to help resolve receiver discrepancies.  This helped to prepare me for when I was promoted to a Junior Buyer/Planner.  
As a Junior Buyer/Planner I worked closely with several vendors to ensure on time delivery of material.  I managed $700,000 worth of inventory on a daily basis, which was done with close communication with each vendor daily.  When i was promoted to a Buyer/Planner, I became in charge of several new vendors and parts.  In this role I have to make sure to pay extremely close attention to the details.  This was shown during the launch of a product redesign at the beginning of this year.  During this redesign I worked with our engineering and quality teams to ensure the implementation of new material.  I also worked with engineering and my vendors to ensure the proper phase out of current production material to minimize obsolescence charges.
Going forward I hope to continue moving forward in the purchasing/procurement field.  I want to get my CPIM and CSCP and continue my education in the supply chain field.  There are a lot of areas in this field that can be targeted which make a direct impact to a company's bottom line.  I want to help work toward this for a company who shares my passion.

Effectively phased out obsolete material and implemented the new material required during a product redesign

Took on a 40% increase in vendors and a 12% increase in overall parts

Communicated with vendors to ensure on-time delivery of materials 
Worked with accounting, receiving, and quality inspection to resolve all purchase order/packing slip discrepancies and the receipt of non-conforming material

Performed MRP weekly based on the forecasted demand

Junior Buyer/Planner

Investigated and resolved discrepancies with inventory (both purchased raw materials and manufactured parts) daily to ensure inventory accuracy
Performed cycle counts and was responsible for several thousand dollars worth of inventory adjustments each month
Trained new employees how to effectively use SAP to manage inventory and investigate the root cause of inventory discrepancies

Inventory Control Analyst

Implemented Gemba boards to improve communication and continually improve current processes and procedures
Created a process flowchart with swim lanes 
Designed a supermarket to improve inventory management of steel parts
