Joseph McPike: in Lakewood, CA

During my brief stint at Paradies, I was responsible for a multi-unit food and beverage location. My tasks included Front of House Operations, Back of House support, and the positive building of team unity within the union staff members. I also oversaw food and mechanical safety concerns assuring that all operations met health department standards. Finally, I was responsible to verify airport security regulations were adhered to by all team members.

I performed such duties as large party bookings, staff management including quality of service, bar operations, supply inventory chain, and everyday restaurant operations.

The main focus of my time at Levy Restaurants was event planning and management. Everything from menu planning, scheduling, and final execution is included. Additionally, I provided countrywide support for major events such as The US Open in Flushing Meadows, NY, Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas, and The Grammys in Los Angeles. I was exclusively responsible for the development of the food and beverage Suite Operations for the Los Angeles Chargers during their first season at what is now Dignity Sports Park in Carson, CA. This included sales projections, infrastructure planning, hiring of additional temporary staff members, menu development and execution, and game day operations.

Having originally starting as the mailroom supervisor, I was promoted to the role of Direct Marketing Coordinator in 2006, It is here that I created print and shipping schedules for direct marketing materials such as flyers, catalogs, and coupons. Additionally, I tracked response rates, ROI, and customer retention. Another aspect of my role was to provide feedback for the new website prior to rollout and as a proof reader for all printed materials. Through my experience with the warehouse as the mailroom supervisor, I was responsible for the internal distribution of the printed materials in addition to the usage tracking.
