TSPA has 40 stylist chairs and 10 esthetician beds, with 4,000+ clients making it the biggest salon in SJ. There are100-120+ Cosmo and Esties students. It is a thriving, high-energy intense school.  Front Salon team is “air traffic control” running the school and salon.

STUDENTS
•	Motivated/coached to improve “skills” through hands on guidance of 
        haircutting and color mixing.
•	Mentored Gen Z & Millennials how to “connect” with Gen Y and baby boomer 
        customers by using repetition, persistence, training them “how to engage” in 
        conversations 
•	Conducted Student Orientation from classroom to salon floor 
     o	Taught students the software for scheduling, customer history and daily 
                 calendar.
     o	Counseled students to greet and treat customers and the consultation 
                process
     o	Trained students on shortcuts & tips from getting dye off skin to how to 
                blow-dry faster etc.
     o	Instructed Students how to organize jump journal (keeping track of all 
                chemical dye formulas)
•	Educated Fill-in teacher salon floor helping students with cuts, color customer

SCHOOL
•	Processed all client transactions in the computer maintaining records and 
        health release forms utilizing the computer software program Envision
•	Assisted in personnel actions supporting salon/school team meetings and 
        marketing activities designed to increase service sales.  In a 2-month period 
        the retail sales went up +300%.

School Coordinator/ Sub Teacher (GIVE BACK)

Took a sabbatical to learn hair.  It was a wonderful experience of science and color theory which is the same as the apparel industry color.  

Refreshed, recharged and had a great opportunity to be with a vast group of people.  

Biggest take away was how unregulated the hair industry is for protecting the earth.  Many stylists are getting brain and lung cancer from the harsh chemicals used and there is no water filter system to clean out the chemicals that go right down the drain.  Big eye opener.  


SABBATICAL Full Time Student

Take on “branding” the fabric mill in a direction that is exciting and complementary to the targeted outdoor/active brands.  After an 11-year relationship from the     “manufacturing” side switch to the “Mill” side to create an updated “user friendly” SOP.

Brand Marketing/Merchandise Manager

Responsible to execute the Reebok vision and perform for the outerwear BU for men’s, women’s and youth.  Commanded the BU’s apparel strategy, goals and results. The Senior Product Manager worked cross-functionally to coordinate and drive commercialization.  Managed the team (development/design along with marketing), ensured a full effective product inception process from design creation to retail shelf.

•	Initiated / succeeded with a team to persuade adidas to restructure procedures in outerwear
o	Adjusted “new product life cycle” from 12 to18 months 
o	Negotiated with factories to repeal “allowed” 1 proto to 3 proto’s 
•	Initiated / elevated product to go from NO W/P ratings, DWR or warmth ratings to have:
o	 25% the first season
o	 50% the 2nd season
o	+ 60% the 3rd season
•	Met / exceeded revenue / margin targets within the budget, against the targeted Go-In-Margin, 
o	Seasonal average of +2.5% to 4.8% above margin target surplus revenue.
•	Formulated / led a 5 year merchandising plan, that developed compelling marketable concepts and strategic seasonal stories within the category that supported Reebok’s creative vision, financial objectives, to grow and elevate the category cross functionally at a 7% increase.
•	Traveled / analyzed competitors' product, strategy, and pricing by customer channel and recommended strategies to improve Reebok's market position and quality / value, and/or reduce costs 
•	Worked with legal to create and implement marketing products: hangtags, catalog descriptions, text, cross category stories.

Managed all men’s. women’s and youth design/merchandise - development/production staff.  Collaborated 
with Marketing and Sales to harmonize product, marketing and delivery for customer satisfaction. Championed strategies for the company vision of making 686 the dominant snowboard apparel brand.

•	Succeeded in being the only person to ever hold this position for more than 1 ½ years in their 26-year 
history before or after my + 8-year period with this great company.
•	Developed / managed / coordinated design briefs, line lists, life cycle development schedule for all departments.
•	Revamped with the Creative Director the design process by restructuring the direction, motivation and inspiration for the designers, which created cohesiveness between all categories.
•	Assessed / targeted / elevated the youth and base/mid-layer categories over a three year period to grow 40% in sales.
