Athlete First for Dicks Sporting Goods

Dicks Sporting Goods hired me in 2019 at their corporate store in South Hills Village, Pittsburgh, PA, for my vast Sales experience and program development experience, as well as my emotional intelligence skills.
The goal was that Dicks was known for very low customer service scores and they were desperately trying to resolve this issue. I worked alongside the Director of Program Management to design what we called the Athlete First Program. 

I designed the program and targeted the Women's Nike Department as that was the highest volume department in the company. The objective was to elevate the customer experience and sales specifically within women's Nike. 

I designed the program as a boutique shopping experience where customers have a one-on-one shopping assistant guiding the customer through the department based on their needs. Using emotional intelligence, sales, customer service and knowledge of the Nike brand (as a previous employee of Nike Corporate) the program was highly successful.

In only 1 month, we increased sales by 40% within women's Nike and customer service ratings increased 300%. Over 3 months, sales on average increased 46% and customer service ratings averaged 280%.

This was highly successful. However, after several sales meetings, we decided this was a successful test pilot. 

I pointed out that in order for this to be successful in the long term, they would need to hire and train the proper staff to sell in an advanced way. I was willing to lead this charge. However Dicks Sporting Goods was looking for a cost-efficient way to raise sales and raise customer service ratings, and so they did not want to invest in the additional training and hiring needed. 

So the program did not roll out officially, even though it was a success.


Pre Registration Rental Forms Canyon Lodge Mammoth

In 2016, I was a Sales Lead for Canyon Demos. Canyon Lodge is the largest selling and highest volume rental department on the mountain. doing over 3 million in sales on average.

During the Christmas holiday, we were slammed, and we were still doing rentals manually, the slow way.

The process was that the customer showed up and had to fill out a form for each member of the family. They had to wait for a customer service team member to sit with them, measure each person's boots. Then, proceed to the tech station to get fit for their skis or boards. This process was extremely slow.

That holiday, I developed an Idea which is widely used today. I began meeting the customers at the door, having them fill out all the proper info on the card before entering the rental area. I would direct them to give me or my associates their form immediately after, and we would quickly fit their boots before entering the area. 

Once fitted the form was filled out with all necessary info, including their recommended board or ski length, ski ability, and height weight info.

Once the client enters  the rental area they simply give the form to the techs and they would bring out the recommended equipment.

This vastly increased operations, and the next year we had a digital computer system set up to streamline this process in what you know of the rental process today. Yep, that was me who created that process at Mammoth Mountain.

Salomon Running Club- Ogden

Preston and I built the Salomon Run Club in 2018 to be the best Mountain Sports Running club in the U.S., growing to have over 80 runners.

Black Diamond Boot Fitting Program Mammoth

Designed as a first in the Ski Industry, working alongside Ben Strange,r Director of Customer Experience at Mammoth Mountain. I designed a program based out of the Westin Hotel in Mammoth Lakes. Customers could reserve a hassle-free, wait-free experience. 

A a 3-time Mammoth Black Diamond Award Winner, I was chosen to operate this department under free will to adapt the department as I see fit.

The program was designed to bring convenience to the doorsteps of our top customers or clients who valued a discreet social status. 

I would fit the entire family with boots, skis, and snowboards. Deliver their passes to them in a custom package and provide local knowledge as to where the best place to ride, dine and escape from the crowds in Mammoth Lakes. I would fit there equipment and then in the morning by 8am I would deliver their equipment to a special ski rack with locks on the slopes so that they did not have to carry the gear to the hill. The customer then had the option to leave the gear at the same rack at the end of the day. The gear would be waxed each day for the length of the stay and placed back on the rack each morning for fresh delivery. Adjustment would be made to the bindings or ski length as requested.

I would custom-fit their boots based on a pre-filled-out form they submitted online before arrival.

We gave the client an option to choose the exact delivery time they would want me to show up at the condo. 

This program is still implemented today and is also copied by a company in Mammoth called Black Tie Skies.

Since then the program has developed into a program called " Ski Butlers" and is used in all Alterra Mountains.
