I am a newspaper, graphic arts and marketing expert with substantial experience in Production, Operations, and Sales. I have led teams with as few as 5 and as many as 65 professionals with both in-house and satellite office reports.  I have managed off-shore production workflows, which included international travel for team building, strategizing, and planning.  I am a positive, hands-on leader who is able to keep teams focused, productive and energized. My principle strengths include problem-solving, workflow management, marketing, graphic design, communication, and training.  I love to train staffs, develop and implement a great plan and watch my efforts lead to solid and traceable results!

Multi-Media Marketing Consultant

• Directed the re-structuring and consolidation transformation of 9 daily newspaper’s pre-press departments into one in-house 20-hour/daily operation. Managed the timely and accurate print ad flow for all of LANG.

• Implemented cost-savings efforts of offshore outsourcing for print ad production. Strategically created schedules, policies, standard operating procedures, and prioritized workflows that included international travel to review offshore internal procedures and staffing.  Primary contact for all international communication with our offshore vendor which included round the clock accessibility.  Thoughtful approach to driving company initiatives, focusing on the long-term objective while ensuring employee morale, productivity, efficiency and maintaining both internal/external customer service.  Workflow analysis, staff leadership, policy development, dedication to quality standards, communication and follow-through were instrumental to success. Created and maintained documentation for current training to end users on ad building and tracking applications, i.e  Adobe InDesign, XPance, and DPS.  

• Instrumental member of satellite help-desk team for the San Jose Mercury News Group,  sister paper to LANG; assisting in their transition to the DPS ad tracking system. Helped sales and support staff using Citrix GoToAssist application for off-site training and immediate guidance and support.  Created documentation and set up workflows for system best practices.  Assisted in organizing the training for sales coordinators, specializing in fulfillment of print advertising campaigns.

• Coordinated pressroom schedules for daily newspapers, special sections, and commercial printing jobs. Liaison for all commercial print customers, which included  UCLA and Cal Poly Pomona.

• Responsible for personnel, inventory/supply management, payroll, scheduling, inter-departmental coordination and communication.

PrePress Manager

Responsible for departments in excess of 25 employees with various job skills, i.e.  graphic artists, ad processors, photo toning technicians, page layout clerks,  paginators and drivers.  Transitioned from traditional paste-up  to digital applications and pagination.  Coordinated with marketing and production departments, local and regional; retailers, area schools, chambers and corporations such as  USA Today, Big 5 and Circuit City, ensuring their commercial jobs printed accurately and on-time.
