MERCHANDISING MANAGER (MM)
This position is responsible for providing professional Merchandising & Sourcing services and management, executing development and production for business. MM supports product development activities for new season and follow-up purchase orders with all factories in Asia from sending PO, to product ex-factory; as well as coordinates with overseas colleagues in the U.S. Headquarters.
Sourcing/Purchasing:
• Obtain initial costing from suppliers / factories and offer alternative solutions to Merchandising / Design team that will meet the price target for the product while keeping the aesthetics of the product.
• Lead the execution of category sourcing strategies for assigned portfolio. Executes category sourcing strategies including development and execution of effective vendor negotiations, cost reductions/containment through correspondence to suppliers; develops selection criteria and drives the selection of suppliers in collaboration with a cross-functional team; conducts supplier negotiations; and performs critical tactical activities as needed including contract management, implementing improvement plans; uses procurement tools and systems to create operational efficiency and visibility.
• Source suppliers, materials, and finished products. Negotiate price to ensure first quality materials and products with the most competitive price in the market.
