Exploding Kittens
Graphic Designer, Packaging | 06/2021 - 08/2025
When I started, my responsibilities included assisting with cards and instructions for new games, as well as designing event booth displays. My second year I was asked to learn packaging design to fulfill a workload business need. As someone who seeks learning and growth, my responsibilities quickly catapulted from handling reprints into product packaging design for new games and bundles, creating dielines, and collaborating with engineers ensuring structure and customer experience. I was also proactive in working on shippers, end caps, and pallets for retailers. I actively assisted with product theming, performed color, competitor and trend research, created and helped populate mood boards, conceptualized and designed compositions from sketching to print-ready execution, and assisted on all components to ensure a holistic design for the product and customer experience.
Petersen Automotive Museum
Lead Designer | 05/2014 - 03/2020
Created new museum collateral including brochures, stationery, and style guide during Museum's reconstruction. Designed exhibit wall graphics, vehicle and artifact placards, exhibit catalogs, invitations, digital and print banners, event tickets, logos for new programs and events, website and social media graphics, and annual gala fundraiser material. Mocked up and designed retail items, and created responsive HTML and MailChimp email templates for Museum’s newsletters, events, online store, member notifications, blog posts, and announcements. Worked closely with vendors and attended press checks to research material, and ensure quality and deadline of print projects. Trained new designers and acted as a continuing resource when they needed assistance or guidance in naming conventions and Museum's style guide. Logged and organized creative requests for Design Department. Outside of my responsibilities I planned and coordinated annual event for four years which increased the day's visitation count to over 1,000 paid guests, frequently volunteered and attended Museum events, organized in-house potlucks, and created book club and game nights.
