Field Rep and Merchandiser / Circulation Driver | 08/2010 - 06/2012
I managed the daily sales, circulation, and retail merchandise marketing of the three local newspapers in the Mid-Valley (Corvallis Gazette-Times, Albany Democrat-Herald, and Lebanon Express). During this time I increased Single Copy Circulation by 30% and reduced newspapers being sold out by 50%.My weekly tasks were to visit every location that sells our newspaper and manage their accounts while also organizing and planning merchandising marketing events or promotions. I also organized the distribution of the Entertainer, finding 50+ locations to display the 2000+ circulation and still growing.
While circulation driver, I managed over 100 carriers who deliver our newspaper. During this time I increased job efficiency by creating a Circulation Driver station in the office and increased carrier retention by starting a monthly Carrier Newsletter. This position included delivering down routes, re-delivering missed newspapers to those who called our customer service line, and managing the carriers with their equipment for delivering newspapers.
