Matthew Douglas: Photographer in Bloomingdale, MI

As a freelance photographer I do client based shoots such as graduation photos and family photos and have spent a few occasions helping shoot weddings. However I spend most of my time doing landscape photography because that is what I have a passion for.

During the summer months of 2015 I was the media director for the Springhill Day Camps team West Michigan 3. As the media director I was in charge of photography, videography and the DJ position. Being the head photographer I was responsible for shooting, editing, and uploading pictures everyday for the entire summer for parents purchases and Springhill Marketing uses. At the end of the week I was in charge of creating the wrap of video/slideshow that enabled parents to get a bit of insight of what their kids experienced while they were at camp.

My freshman year of college I decided that instead of buying a longboard that I could probably make one. After researching I made my first deck for my own personal use, and then friends and family began asking for my business. While in college I periodically created and designed longboard decks from scratch out of my Dad's barn in order to generate a small income while I was at school.

As an assistant carpenter I helped the head carpenters in building homes and additions to homes.

As a graphic designer for Holland bar stool I designed and created barstool virtuals, game room virtuals, table virtuals, clock virtuals, grill cover virtuals, sell sheets, and pool table cover virtuals. I worked primarily in photoshop taking college logos and placed them on different products that Holland Bar Stool sold. The mockups that I created were used for marketing material in order for the customers to be able to see a finished product without the company having to make separate bar stools for every division I school in the United States.

Growing up on a Christmas Tree and Blueberry Farm I did anything and everything in order to help grow my Dad's business. During my employment at Douglas Farms I Assist on family Christmas Tree and Blueberry Farm doing jobs such as weeding, trimming, planting, equipment operator, irrigation, ground clearing, and chemical application.
