Marine Cargo Specialist

Specialist & Consultant

Experienced Logistician with a demonstrated ability to utilize the most efficient and cost-effective
military and commercial conveyances to achieve organizational goals. Skilled in Project
Management, Leadership, Team Building, Hazardous Materials handling, certification, and
international customs. Strong transportation professional currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science
focused in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University
and APICS Certification in Logistics, Transportation, and Distribution.

Relied upon to plan, coordinate, develop or review preliminary detailed pre-stowage plan of a variety of cargo utilizing the Integrated Computerized Deployment System, to support the daily operations of the Transportation Battalion DDMT. Ascertains whether cargo offered for booking can be accommodated in available space aboard designated vessel and advises Battalion leadership or unit representatives as to changes in relation to amount and type of cargo offered. Coordinates with unit movement representatives for unit deployment lists in preparation of documentation activities for the deployment and redeployment of military units. Serves as primary coordinator between contract personnel and the Battalion to ensure availability, proper use of government furnished lashing gear, equipment and dunnage. Serves as Quality Assurance Surveillance Specialist for contract administration and management of Stevedoring and Related Terminal Services contracts, basic ordering agreements, motor carrier performance and the Global POV contract.

Authorizing Official (AO) who has the responsibility for the mission and the authority to obligate funds to support temporary duty travel for the mission. The AO authorizes only travel necessary to accomplish the mission of the Government. AOs are held financially liable for erroneous payments resulting from the negligent performance of their duties. Authorizing Officials have access to the travel authorizations and budgets associated with the travelers for which the AOs are responsible. AOs will review and approve or disapprove proposed trips based on trip data, estimated costs, the balance in the budgets, and exceptions to DoD travel policy. The Authorizing Official is responsible for the review and approval or disapproval of expenses outside the initial approved trip, exceptions to policy and input rationale if approved, the status of a specified travel authorization and financial accounting for a specified trip, final settlements prior to forwarding to DFAS.

Authorizing Official (AO)

Served as the 82nd Airborne Division Artillery Senior Transportation Coordinator; responsible for the planning, coordinating, and supervising of all strategic deployment and redeployment operations for 2,000 personnel and equipment. Provided technical assistance to subordinate units in preparation for all training rotations, deployments and redeployments in support of worldwide contingency missions. Served as the liaison between the 82nd Airborne Division Artillery and a variety of agencies, to include: XVIII Airborne Corps, U.S. Forces Command, Army Central Command, Transportation Command, Tanker Airlift Control Center, Air Mobility Command, and the Surface Deployment Distribution Center. Provided technical guidance on the implementation and utilization of various systems to manage organizational equipment lists, unit deployment lists, and movement plans. Prepared and certified hazardous materials for shipment worldwide. Responsible for creation of air load plans for both civilian and military airlift. Also served as the Brigade DTS Agency Program Coordinator, ensuring Soldiers complied with Joint Travel Regulations, settled travel vouchers, maintained the Government Travel Card Program, and provided reports of delinquency for the Chain of Command. Systems used daily include: The Single Mobility System, Integrated Computerized Deployment System, Joint Operation Planning and Execution System, and TC-AIMS II, Defense Travel System. Held active DoD TS/SCI Clearance for 10 years.

Senior Transportation Management Coordinator

Served as a Section Sergeant in a Light/Medium Truck section organized into two sections consisting of Transportation Movement Control Team, and Local Movement Control. Coordinated all movement for a 550-man Special Forces Battalion. Organized and supervised the Battalion Drivers Training Program. Planned, managed, and monitored the platoon motor transport operations, ensuring a fleet of 16 vehicles are maintained. Directly responsible for $1.7 million worth of organizational equipment. Responsible for the health, welfare, readiness, and training of five Non-Commissioned Officers and 13 Soldiers.

Section Sergeant

Served as the Senior Transportation Management Coordinator for a 550-man Special Forces
Battalion oriented toward the Army Pacific Command area of responsibility. Directly responsible for the Reception, Staging, Onward movement, and Integration of forces and equipment throughout
the Asia-Pacific Region. Solely coordinated, controlled, and supervised the movement of all
personnel, equipment and cargo by sea, air, and land for the Battalion. Prepared and supervised
all hazardous material documentation, government and commercial bills of lading, diplomatic
clearances, and preparation of equipment for shipment. Liaised between 2nd Battalion, 1st
Special Forces Group and multiple commercial carriers to ensure the most cost effective and efficient transportation was utilized. Responsible for training and mentoring five Non-Commissioned
Officers and five Soldiers in combat support and combat service support operations.

Assigned as a Transportation Movements Non-Commissioned Officer and Squad Leader in a
Movement Control Team. Provided expertise in areas such as: deployment and redeployment,
sustainment convoys, in-transit visibility, inspection of hazardous materials, and daily updates to the Directorate of Logistics, Installation Transportation Division.

Transportation Management Coordinator

Germany
Howitzer Section Chief in an Airborne Field Artillery Battalion with the mission of no notice,
worldwide deployment in support of European Command contingency missions and combat
operations. Supervised the emplacement, firing, and displacement of the howitzer. Directly
responsible for the training and welfare of seven Soldiers, ensuring the strict adherence of safety
procedures involving live firing. Supervised operator maintenance of organizational equipment
valued over $1,200,000. Prepared the Section for Airborne and Air Assault Operations.

Howitzer Section Chief

Served as the Gunner for a M119A2 105mm Howitzer in a Direct Support Artillery Battery.
Responsible for ensuring accurate fire mission data is set on the howitzer. Assisted Howitzer Section
Chief in the training of seven Soldiers and conducting operator level maintenance of organizational equipment valued over $1.2M.
