LADIES SPORTSWEAR DESIGNER

Creative & Design

Born and raised in LA, I was constantly inspired
by my surroundings growing up in the city.
I knew I wanted to be a fashion designer from when I was very young. I was always very artistic but I developed a particular interest for fashion. At the age of 7, I knew how to sew, embroider, and crochet all thanks to my mother and great grandmother. I began my journey by attending The Art Institute in North Hollywood, CA, majoring in Fashion Design. Within a year of being in school I got a wonderful opportunity and became an Assistant Patternmaker. I worked with several celebrities making customized gowns and suits. I graduated with my B.F.A and continued to flourish in my career.

I have successfully started my own business, I provide services such as Graphic Design, Textile Design, CAD Illustrations, and Design Consultant.
In the near future I plan to expand and start a kids clothing line, inspired by my two sons. 
 

 Design & create original sketches of style groups based on concept/direction from Creative Director/VP Design
. Develop, demonstrate and maintain a strong knowledge of trends, target market demands, customer, brand objectives
. & design aesthetic.
. Responsible for designing pants, shorts, shirts, jackets, wraps, & scarves; categories that grossed over $500M in sales annually
. Collaborate with merchandisers, & sales partners to create & present seasonal color palettes & concepts
 . Create technical sketches for garment styling & construction specifications
. Create Tech Packs & maintain BOM in Web PLM
   Manage product submission/ approvals with licensors to ensure we maintain brand integrity
. Create mood boards, trend forecasting & illustration presentations
. Maintain/monitor calendar & tracks adherence to ensure timely turnover of development, receipt of proto & market samples . Work with Production team to globally source, find fabrics and yarns that are within budgetary guidelines to develop
. Perform trend research through shopping for ideas in sihlouette, trim/ fabrics for different markets
. Conduct fitting sessions to ensure proper fit/ brand integrity & provide fit comments to tech
. Communicate closely with Product Packaging to identify product graphic needs per style, photo shoots & store displays
. Oversee & approve all lab dips, trims, & fabrics for production orders
. Work with both in-house sample room & overseas for design development
Provide leadership & mentoring to the design team continually demonstrate the ability to be a team leader

. Collaborated with Designer in developing new exciting emerging styles
Coordinated with multiple departments (Design, Tech Design, Pre-Production, Production, etc.) to ensure
. product samples are built to specs and within cost margins
. Executed specific design development projects overseas
. Created CADS / graphics for specific design projects for buyers & generated flat sketches/ updated line sheets
. Recolored artwork for line using Ned Graphics easy coloring
. Worked with patternmakers/ sample sewers to ensure prototypes were completed in timely manner
. Researched trends and conveyed new ideas through competitive shopping, magazines, websites, and runway shows
. Managed Licensors Product submissions & approvals
. Worked with product managers to monitor & approve fabrics, yarns, lab dips, strike offs, & trims
Developed/ sourced new fabric & trim seasonally with several factories in which I collected
. & monitored the development
. Attended fittings with Designer & facilitate resolving issues with fit/ yield

KIDS ASSOCAITE DESIGNER

. Created sketches showing seasonal ideas for product development
. Developed hand sketches and tech packs for production teams; address questions and feedback
. Supervised linesheets, product archives, and production timelines, & follow up with teams to stay on schedule
Sourced globally & domestically for new fabrications or trims . Maintained pre-development of pre-costing, fabrics
Attended sample fittings and noted designers feedback

MISSY ASSOCIATE DESIGNER

. Assisted in design & sourced fabrications
. Illustrated CAD sketches on Illustrator & Photoshop for meetings
. Created presentations, mood boards and other visual materials
. Sourced globally & domestically for new fabrications or trims
. Attended weekly fittings & provided comments/ approvals
. Maintained pre-development of pre-costing, fabrics, washes, trims & prints
