End of the World

Lead of art direction, cinematography, production, and marketing of the 2020 breakout skate video "End of the World" which premiered on Free Skate Mag June 23rd 2020. 

Burden of Dreams

The great skate trip down the Amazon River. "Burden of Dreams" is an all VX1000 independent skate video filmed throughout a trip by boat down the Amazon River in search of skate spots. The video premiered January 6th 2021 via Jenkem Magazine and DVD. The project includes a traditional video part as well as a behind the scenes documentary about the making of this overly adventurous skate trip.

The Saudade Express

An official jury selection of the Vladimir Film Festival; The Saudade Express follows a guerrilla skate trip by train across Brazil, shot all analog and with a $0 budget. The Saudade Express premiered at the Vladimir Film Festival and was hosted online by Free Skate Mag. 

Own Little World

The award winning fourth chapter of my saga of independent video parts. Dubbed a "festival favorite" at the Vladimir Film Festival; Own Little World is a guerrilla skate video shot on Analog Cameras and using only practical effects for the titles and transitions. The film premiered in September of 2023 via Free Skate Mag.

Curved Universe

The fifth chapter in Mike Mag's saga of guerrilla video parts. Inspired by the natural curves of the world, this tour de force echoes the contours of a land that defies straight lines and rigid structures. An official selection of the 2024 Vladimir Film Festival and Palme d'Or of the Connect Skate Urbanism Festival. Curved Universe Premiered 11 September 2024 in Rio de Janeiro preceding a world tour of screenings and premieres. Premiere Locations: Rio de Janeiro Brazil - Mauácba, Florianópolis Brazil - Cinétrinda, Fažana Croatia - Vladimir Film Festival, Bordeaux France - Connect Skate Urbanism Festival, São Paulo Brazil - Below Skate Video Festival.

<p>Michael Magalhães, aka Mike Mag; is a Brazilian Graphic Artist and above all else skateboarder. Mag studied art and design at Florida State University's College of Fine Arts. In order to pay for the exuberant cost of American university, Mag began freelancing under his own design studio called "Mags Design Lab". Through this whimsical design house, he acquired a litany of odd jobs, doing logo design, poster design, pamphlet design, apparel, marketing, etc. With his deep roots in the skateboard world Mag was also fortunate enough to do most of his work within the skateboarding industry. </p>
