Footwear Designer, CGM (Roxy)

Creative & Design

- Design women & girls' casuals, sandals, and boots for Roxy mainline, family channel line, SMU, clearance, and special collaborations (i.e. Stephanie Gilmore & Cynthia Rowley)
- Manage materialization, trims, color selection, and print/graphic creation for 100+ SKUs per season
- Create new upper designs via hand-sketching, digital CADs, tech pack creation, and prototype revisions
- Design sneaker/sandal soles and molded sandal straps via 2D blueprints and wood/PU mockup review
- Conducted trend research and created shopping reports for seasonal line-building & design insight
- Manage all packaging design

- Assist creative team in a company that manufactures wovens, heat seals/transfers, and other embellishments for top footwear/apparel/accessory companies 
- Prepare material kits and other presentations to showcase upcoming trends and material capabilities 
- Prepare sets of materials for clients to use at special customization events 
- Design material graphics & technical manuals in Adobe Illustrator 

Creative Team Assistant

- Assist start-up Los Angeles shoe brand by fulfilling needs in various areas: social media, product development, merchandising, marketing, event planning, cost analysis, and retail. 
- Connect the company with local partners such as suppliers/manufacturers for new product, makers and brands to collaborate with, charities and nonprofits to fund and support, and event planners for markets and fairs to sell and market our product. 
- Lead discussions on target customer demographics and wholesale channels. Compiled sales and inventory reports to forecast orders for new and anniversary SKUs. 
- Learn the physical skill of designing and making a shoe by hand. 

Merchandising Assistant

- Manage new footwear development throughout a season. Started from developing new materialways to developing the entire Spring 2018 sandal line and much of the Fall 2018 boot line. 
- Review and decide shoe construction, upper material reinforcement, outsole mold and blueprint, and last to achieve desired design, fit, cost, and quality. 
- Communicate frequently with merchandising, design, costing, and material teams to deliver the best quality product at the desired cost and delivery time. 
- Communicate with developers and factories in China and Vietnam; have travelled overseas to production lines and material vendors.
