Loss Control Intern | 06/2007 - 05/2011
I performed two roles during the summer and winter breaks while I was attending school. With Loss Control I: supervised projects, trained the award winning mine rescue team, trained new employees about fire safety, driving safety, and the importance of personal protective equipment (PPE), kept record of hazardous materials on site, held safety meetings with various departments, performed safety audits, and diagnosed possible risks on the mine site.
While I was interning in the Accounting department I: prepared cash flow projections and monitored variances, completed gold shipments, developed internal audit programs, deposited checks, prepared account reconciliations, converted accounting practises from Generally Accepted Accounting Principles to International Financial Reporting Standards, and analyzed budget variances.
