I am a problem solver with a passion for refining and expanding my skill-set. Rarely will you find me without a task or side project that challenges my creative abilities or craftsmanship. As a self-starter, I'm always searching for outlets that allow me to learn, develop and grow as a designer and leader. 

The first and primary creative hired on staff for FlapJacked, a start-up in the natural food space, I shaped and influenced the visual voice and strategy of the brand across all areas from packaging, photography, copy, marketing, social outlets, website, and sales. Planning and executing projects from start to finish with broad responsibilities and experiences and sometimes creatively tight budgets. I was able to work on long-lead packaging projects, but also learned to adapt to last-minute fire projects.

COLLABORATED: Closely with and independently of the Founders, marketing team, sales staff, photographers, web developers, packaging manufacturers and other creatives to build and maintain a high level of consistency across all consumer and trade touchpoints and experiences.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Creative: Planning and execution of all creative projects from ideation through to production including but not limited to product packaging, package renderings, copy, HTML emails, e-commerce microsites, website, sales collateral and presentations, consumer marketing materials, t-shirts, etc.

Creative Management: Interface, guide and coordinate with external photographers and contract workers.

Print Production: Plan, coordinate, and oversee external printers, vendors and packaging manufacturers.

Event / Trade Shows: Design, source, and fabricate booth components and in-booth experiences for major trade and consumer shows. 

Content Organization: Manage and maintain a digital asset library for internal staff and external vendors. Verify standards, claims, and regulations for packaging and marketing. 

Photo / Video Production: Shoot, style, and edit lifestyle, social, recipe, and product photography and some video . 

Budget & Timeline Management: Coordinate timelines with cross-functional teams for large projects and budgets.

Collaborate with event managers to design cards, stickers, posters, campaigns logos, flyers, and other collateral. Also, edit photos and create graphics as needed.

Graphic Designer (Freelance)

As the only in-house designer for the company and their auxiliary brand, AquaLab by Decagon, most efforts were in supporting the marketing department while also supplementing the mechanical and software engineering groups with their design needs. The main objective was to enhance the brand and strengthen customer interactions and perceptions of their products and services through design.

COLLABORATED: With front-end web developer on web design, copy writers and other marketing professionals to craft effective messaging across various mediums, and mechanical and software engineers in the production of assets for physical and digital products.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Interfaced and coordinated with printers, vendors, and contract workers. Managed project priorities with the guidance of the Director of Marketing. Applied, maintained, and expanded upon brand identity systems. Contributed to the development of the creative team’s culture and quality standards

PRODUCED: Marketing and educational collateral, trade show backdrops, displays, and materials, illustrations, infographics, logos, software assets, UI mock-ups and prototypes, product packaging, edited photos, website assets, and HTML emails.

Visual Designer

Created a logo, illustrations, and designs for merchandise and marketing collateral consistent with the brand and mission.

PRODUCED: Illustrations, patterns, logo and brand guidelines.

Collaborated with art director and lead designer to produce award winning designs and illustrations for in-house clients and alumni groups across the country.

PRODUCED: Postcard, brochure, email, invitation, editorial, and t-shirt designs, illustrations, and maintained photo archive.

Graphic Design Intern

Designed collateral for state wide campaign that was consistent with brand guidelines. 

PRODUCED:  Mailer, poster, bill fold insert.
