After spending about two decades managing international clients at some of the worlds highest ranked brand and ad agencies in both Europe and the US (Wieden & Kennedy, Razorfish, Liquid, Forsman & Bodenfors), I spent the last three years as Brand Connector (aka Marketing Director) at Nutcase Helmets here in Portland.
There I got to build a great marketing department of five, managing all marketing activities in the US and 35 country subsidiaries. A lot of my initial work was foundational, I developed the first ever brand platform, audience profiles, marketing strategy and budgets, and was able to create an omni-channel approach based on social media, email, blogs, sponsorships and events, all driving traffic to a multi-national site with 20+ localized instances and a US e-store with 20-40% growth every year. 
My work on a daily basis supported international distributors as well as about 25 independent US sales reps with all marketing and sales materials, covering two new product launches and the development, sourcing and distribution of a global POP program and event kit. One of my favorite achievements was the conception of Nutcase Unframed, an artist collaboration program that generated global brand awareness with new audiences far beyond the scale of the marketing budgets.

Marketing Director

Responsible for strategic development and day-to-day leadership of the agencies largest account, Sur La Table, covering everything from brand strategy evolution to ongoing digital and traditional campaigns with the fast-paced activities typical for retail. Engaged in new business development, Pollinate won 4 new clients during my tenure.

Client Director

Responsible for new business development and client satisfaction. Grew the agencies’ relationship with Microsoft to include several new business units and reached preferred vendor status. Initiated partnerships with Keen Footwear, New Deal Distillery and Biamp Solutions. During my tenure with Liquid, agency revenues grew by 70%.


Managed the Ikea advertising account including strategy development and planning of integrated campaigns, as well as representing the agency at Swedish and international industry events. One year after taking on the account of over ten years, Ikea agency revenues more than doubled, and ongoing work relationships with Ikea US and the global client organization were developed. The agency Ikea team won over 50 ad awards during my tenure, an Ikea campaign site was ranked the worlds most awarded digital project in 2006 by Creativity Magazine, F&B was named digital agency of the year at the Cannes Lions 2007 and ranked number 3 globally on the ‘07 Gunn report. 


Responsible for management of Microsoft client relationship and new business efforts. Grew a relationship with Microsoft from a packaging assignment to an ongoing integrated marketing partnership with annual  revenues over $5MM. Projects included brand and communications strategy, corporate identity, packaging, print collateral, web design, and events. In 2007, Avenue A / Razorfish was purchased by Microsoft.


Handled three product categories within Nike’s fastest growing division, Nike International. Built awareness of the global brand in new markets by developing both regional and pan-cultural advertising. Campaigns included TV, print and outdoor media, and were targeted towards Asia, Latin America and Europe. During my time on the account, the number of targeted countries doubled to include China, India and several countries in Latin America.
