Technology venture development

I create products, processes, services and businesses usually based on new or emerging technology.  This includes creating technology and inventing solutions that use it.  I have worked with small and large manufacturing firms in several countries to improve the value of existing assets, to create the strategy for building out technology assets and to establish partnerships with companies, universities and government agencies.

I have hands-on experience with manufacturing from heavy industry to 3D printing to semiconductor fabrication.  I co-founded a materials and manufacturing company based on my doctoral research and later helped to develop technology commercialization programs at UT as a researcher, lecturer and program coordinator.

o	Initiated and built ~$2.5M externally-funded R&D program?
o	Created, wrote, negotiated and led Phase I ($100K) and Phase II ($750K) magnetic coupling projects funded by the Office of the Secy. of Defense
o	Invented anti-counterfeiting solution, proposed and led Phase I ($150K) and won Phase II ($975K) projects funded by Missile Defense Agency
o	Developed, proposed and won new motor architecture project ($400K) funded by US intelligence community
o	Integrated magnetic auto-alignment into NASA ROSES segmented space telescope project ($100K/$1M) with Marshall Space Flight Center
o	Created new motor architecture for electric pump as a subcontractor for a Phase II SBIR grant
o	Created solutions and wrote multiple solo and collaborative proposals to support research in actuators, electrical connectors, latching and alignment systems, motors and generators.

o	Helped large and small energy, petrochemical, manufacturing and automotive companies to create breakthrough and transformational products, processes, intellectual property and strategies.
o	Led engagements with Halliburton, Lyondell and Federal Mogul
o	Led SE-Asian collaboration with Pera Neville Clarke and led multi-national consulting projects in Malaysia.
o	Created IP development process and wrote patent drafts
o	Participated in company operations areas including web, marketing, business development and strategy

VP, Innovation System Architect, Commercialization Lead

o	Built systematic technology commercialization tools and methods and wrote related articles
o	Co-developed and co-instructed undergraduate and graduate-level cross-listed, multidisciplinary emerging tech. commercialization courses. 
o	Coordinated and refined the Idea to Product® local and global technology commercialization competitions
o	As Assistant Director of early Advanced Manufacturing Center, built network of company representatives including semiconductor, building materials, energy and petroleum and created strategy development workshop

Originally founded to commercialize dissertation technology.   Later, focused on additive manufacturing polymer materials. Acquired by EOS in 2009.
